  • S01E01 But That is My Book

    Charlie and his little sister Lola are headed to the library, where Lola can't wait to once again check out her favorite book, Beetles, Bugs and Butterflies. She feels that this is the best book in the world and loves it especially because it makes her laugh. Once at the library, she finds that it's not on the shelf and she's very upset. It's up to Charlie not only to quiet her down, but also to see if he can't find another book that she'll enjoy just as much.

  • S01E02 I Can Do Anything That's Everything All on My Own

    Lola is determined to do "Anything That's Everything All on My Own", alas, doing things by herself. Some of the things she tries doing on her own are using the computer and pouring juice with little success. Problem is, Lola doesn't know about it. Charlie explains with his friend Marv's help to Lola that sometimes you need a little help with the activity you are doing.

    Lola loves dogs, and she would like to have one, but her parents said no because their flat is too small and that she is too young to look after a dog. To make up for that, she has Charlie be a dog, and they play around. Later at the park, Charlie and his friend Marv want to play football, but they wonder who will look after Sizzles, Marv's dog. Lola, and her friend Lotta want to be the ones to look after her. With little knowledge about dogs, will the babysitting end in a disaster?

    Lola is excited about the upcoming school play and is convinced she'll be chosen for the best role, the Sun. She's extremely disappointed that she's not chosen to be the Sun and comes up with a great costume to try to convince her teacher that she made a mistake. She's even more disappointed when she finds out what her role is actually going to be. Charlie helps her out to see that each role in the play is very important.

    It's time for Lola to have a haircut, but she doesn't want one. Lola just happens to like her hair the way it is. Charlie eventually finds out that the real reason Lola doesn't want a haircut is that she doesn't like the brushing part. With Charlie's help, Lola gets her haircut done.

    Lola's not feeling well at all. She has a bad cold and so it's up to Charlie to try to cheer her up. Charlie really wants to play a football game with Marv, but he knows he has to do his best to cheer Lola up. He tries giving her a snack, singing her a song, and doing a puzzle with her, but nothing seems to distract her from how bad she feels. Finally, with a little imagination, Charlie comes up with a great way to take Lola's mind off her illness.

  • S01E10 I Am Hurrying I'm Almost Nearly Ready!

    Lola for some reason isn't hurrying up to get ready for school, although she says she is. Lola wants some time to color in her coloring book, feed her goldfish, and do countless other things, forcing Charlie to wait. With time getting tight, Charlie intervenes so that Lola can really hurry up and make it to school.

Charlie and Marv have their own ideas on just what makes a great picnic, while Lola and Lotta have totally different ideas. One thing they all agree on at first, though, is that the rain that starts falling once their picnic is set up is definitely not a good thing. But with some imagination, they come with some great ideas for an indoor picnic.

    It's Charlie's birthday and his family and friends have prepared a special surprise for him. Lola has been let in on the secret and seems ready to let it slip at any time. Desperate to remain in the dark, Charlie shushes his little sister and tries hiding, but it still seems like she's bound to let it slip. Charlie comes up with an imaginative plan to keep his surprise from being spoiled.

  • S01E15 I Do Not Ever, Never Want My Wobbly Tooth to Fall Out

    Lola has a wobbly (loose) tooth, but she simply doesn't want it to fall out. Charlie and Marv explain to her that everyone loses baby teeth --- they're replaced by much stronger adult teeth. Lola still isn't convinced and Charlie's moose analogy doesn't do anything to help the matter. Then, Lola, learns about the tooth fairy. Astounded by this news, she can't wait to lose her tooth and then she does --- only to misplace it. It's up to Charlie to come up with a solution to this drastic problem, as Lola fears that without her tooth, the tooth fairy won't be paying her a visit.

    It's school picture day at Charlie and Lola's school. Lola has a problem when it comes to picture --- it seems that no matter what, she always ends up getting messy. She's determined this time, though, to stay clean and vows to Charlie that she can do it. But when she gets to school, this vow turns out to be much more difficult than she thought. Charlie, however, has an imaginative idea on how to create the perfect picture.

  • S01E17 I'm Just Not Keen on Spiders

    When it comes to creepy-crawlies, Lola generally likes them. Caterpillars, beetles and even worms are okay with her, but she's just not keen on spiders. She doesn't like the way they move about and always popping up when you least expect it. So whenever one crawls up the drainpipe and appears in the sink, Charlie always has to catch it with a plastic cup and a piece of paper and take it outside. Charlie reminds Lola that there was a time when she didn't like worms or caterpillars, or even beetles. He explains to her some of the many good things about spiders and about how clever they are. He and Lola give a name to the found spider and suddenly she's a bit more keen on it --- especially when it's let outside and she worries about what will happen to it when it starts to rain.

    Today is Lotta's birthday and Lola wants to get her a very special present. They've given Lola some coins and they take her to the store, along with Charlie, to pick out a present. Lola has some imaginative ideas for presents --- but Charlie helps her out, reminding her that a good present is one Lotta can actually use and the present must be something that actually exists. So much for Lola's ideas of a "musical skipping rope" or wings for her to fly with. Lola eventually stumbles upon a great idea --- a doctor's kit --- but trouble arises when Lola wants to use the present for herself.

    Lola is going on a trip to her friend Lotta's. She's a heavy packer and wants to take all sorts of things, despite Charlie's insistences that all of the stuff won't fit and that she needs to get going. Lola eventually reaches Lotta's, but then realizes that she left her stuff at home. She and Lotta come up with an imaginative new way to play their Cinderella game, while Charlie and Marv use their imaginations to come up with a solution after their toy car racing plans are initially spoiled by a piece of missing track.

  • S01E20 I Want to Play Music Too

    Charlie and Marv have been assigned to put on a show about the planets and perform music. Charlie has been practicing on his clarinet, while Marv can use his keyboard to create all sorts of neat noises. Lola wants to join in too, but she doesn't know how to play an instrument and she wasn't selected. Charlie tells her that he's sure there'll be a time when she's selected for her class, but Lola wants to play music now. Then, Charlie gets a bright idea as to how she might be able to play some music.

    Charlie and Lola are going to the amusement park and Lola is excited about the idea of perhaps finally getting to ride the exciting ride called the "super duper loop-the-looper." She's convinced that this is the year that she'll be tall enough to ride it. Charlie's not sure --- he doesn't think she's grown all that much. Measuring their heights on the wall seems to confirm it. But Lola's not discouraged and tries to make herself grow. Then, Charlie has an idea on how to convince her that there are positive aspects to being kind of small.

    Charlie and Lola are paying a visit to their grandparents. Normally Lola loves to go, but today for some reason, she doesn't seem to want to. She keeps making up excuses for why she can't go. She says that while she enjoys pony rides, she's afraid of hurting the feelings of the ponies she isn't able to ride. As Charlie talks with her, it slowly comes out that she's rather afraid that she'll miss her Mum and Dad. Charlie, however, comes up with a great idea to help her out.

  • S01E23 Snow is My Favourite and My Best

    Lola is very excited when she hears that snow is coming. She asks Charlie all sorts of questions about snow and then stays up late to watch it fall. The next morning, Charlie, Lola, Marv and Lotta have loads of fun playing in the snow making snow angels, snowmen and snow-dogs, tossing snowballs, going sliding and more. Lola, however, becomes sad the next day when the snow melts away.

  • S01E24 I'm Far Too Extremely Busy

    Charlie wants to play a fun game of cards with Lola. It's a matching game called flip flop. Lola, however, is pretending that she has jobs and is "far too extremely busy." She hurries from one job to another --- writing a letter for mermaids, being a dentist and more. It seems like she doesn't even have time for her friends.

    Lola has a favorite alligator costume that she wants to wear absolutely everywhere. Charlie tells her that she can't wear it all the time, but Lola argues that she can, as it is her favourite and best. Charlie becomes embarrassed when she wears it to the supermarket and then to the playground. He's in for a surprise, however, when she decides to wear it to a school presentation.

  • S01E26 My Little Town

    Charlie and Lola receive a toy set from their grandparents called My Little Town, although Lola wants Charlie to think of it as "Our Little Town." It has markers, towers and more for construction. Charlie gets to work building a town with things like cars and airplanes, while Lola just wants to draw flowers and later a zoo. Charlie, however, is rather unwilling to share supplies and Lola ends up with just a couple of stubby crayons and nothing to cover her zoo animals from the rain. With Charlie unwilling to share, the game is beginning to seem no fun.

Season 2

  • S02E01 It is Absolutely Completely Not Messy

    Charlie and Lola's parents want them to clean their room. Charlie thinks this is a very good idea as there's so much stuff strewn about that it's hard to move around. Lola, however, feels that things in the room are not "untidy," they're merely "spread out." Charlie tries to show Lola how much easier it would be to find things if they were put away properly. Lola doesn't want to move anything, but she begins to reconsider when Charlie moves out.

  • S02E02 I Spy with My Little Eyes

    Lola has found a new game to play --- spying --- observing things and pretending to write them down. While Charlie plays football with Marv, she does some "spying" with her imaginary friend Soren Lorenson and learns someone is moving in next door. Soren Lorenson thinks that it might be an ogre, but Lola has a different idea after seeing a name on an envelope.

  • S02E03 I Am Extremely Magic

    Charlie has a new magic kit and dazzles Lola with his tricks. Lola asks him to teach her magic, but Charlie says that he can't --- it wouldn't be magic if he could. Lola thinks that if Charlie is magic, that must mean that she is too. With the help of her imaginary friend, Soren Lorenson, she does her best to do tricks, but comes up empty. She's ready to give up, but Charlie has some ideas to help.

    Charlie invites his friends and Lola to a monster-themed party for his birthday, but Lola doesn't like the theme. Taking her parents' request to help out a little too far, she opens Charlie's cards for him and does some unauthorized "pretty" redecorating. When she takes things too far by switching the music for the party games, Charlie finds he's had enough. But Lola finds her own special way to help.

    Charlie has been making a collection of plastic dinosaur figures from cereal and Lola decides that she wants to start a collection too. However, she finds that it's harder than it seems. Nevertheless, she gathers a set of objects that don't seem to be a collection, but in fact have their own special way of going together.

At first, she's upset when he can't do anything, but then she finds the perfect way to help him.

    Lola really likes Lotta's new coat --- it's white and as soft as snow. She manages to convince Lotta to trade it for a clippy handbag of hers for the day and promises to take good care of it. As she goes out for the day, she manages to avoid several situations that could cause damage to the coat. Then she loses it at the library, and worries that Lotta won't be her friend anymore.

    Charlie and Lola are excited about the prospect of a Chinese puppet show, but can't seem to stop squabbling with each other. They seem to fight about everything, getting into repetitive, pointless arguments. They eventually get placed in "simmer-down" chairs and are worried that they'll miss the puppet show. Together, they work on a constructive way to resolve their differences.

    It's Sports Day at Charlie and Lola's school and there are various activities being held. Each student is allowed to choose one activity to participate in. Charlie, Marv and Lotta all quickly find activities they're good at, but Lola struggles to find an activity. Lola eventually chooses the egg-and-spoon race and succeeds at in a unique way.

When Charlie is left without what he wants because of Lola's borrowing, Lola realizes that her not saving things is inconsiderate of others.

Lola and Lotta begin to realize that if they're prepared, they don't have to worry about being lost.

    When Lola finds Charlie and Marv studying Spanish, she asks them all sorts of questions about foreign countries. She wants to know how to get to them, what they eat there, what music they play and more. Then, together with Soren Lorenson, she creates Lolaland. This imaginary new country is an island shaped like Lola's face and features famous landmarks such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa and Big Ben. It even has its own language --- Lola Language.

    Christmas is coming and Charlie and Lola have received an advent calendar to help them keep track. The calendar has a flap to lo open for each day leading up until Christmas. At school, they find that many of their friends have received the same calendar, so they trade stories of what things they found underneath the flaps. Charlie and Lola also get ready for Christmas, discussing wanted gifts, making cards, and writing letters. On Christmas Eve, Lola discovers something disturbing --- the flap for Christmas has disappeared from the calendar. The two go inside the calendar to find out what happened with Christmas.

    Charlie is excited about an upcoming broadcast of one of his favorite TV shows, Space Family Hudson, but he's only allowed to watch it if he and Lola complete their chores. Though the chores are somewhat small in nature, there are several of them, so Charlie puts them both on a tight schedule. Lola, however, seems to be more interested in messing about, though she claims her fun helps them to get the chores done better.

    Lola is excited about the possibility of caring after her class's pet guinea pig, Bert. Her classmates, however, seem to know more about guinea pigs than her, so she is delighted when she is, indeed, picked. Lola does her best to take care of Bert, learning many things she needs to know from Mrs. Hanson and learning others from her classmates. Lola sets up a guinea pig run for Bert, but then Bert escapes. That's when Lola and Charlie discover a surprising fact about Bert.

  • S02E21 I Will Not Ever Never Forget You, Nibbles

    When Charlie's parents decide that he is responsible enough to have a pet, he gets a mouse named Nibbles. Both he and Lola soon begin having a lot of good times with Nibbles. They teach him many tricks and he proves to be the cleverest pet on "Bring Your Pet to School Day." When Nibbles passes away, Lola seems more broken up about it than Charlie. Charlie helps Lola to see that he's sad too, to cope with the loss and to ultimately celebrate what they both love about Nibbles.

    When it comes to superstitions, Lola doesn't seem to completely understand the idea that sometimes people just spin tall tales that aren't really true. She's convinced that potatoes will grow if she doesn't wash behind her ears, and that there are vicious animals waiting to grab her should she step on a crack in the sidewalk. Amused at first by his sister's behavior, Charlie begins to realize that some of these tales are causing his sister genuine fear. He talks with her to help her understand that she shouldn't believe everything she hears.

    When Lola sees the room of Marv's brother Marty, who never throws anything away, she resolves to get rid of all of her old stuff. Charlie encourages the project, but tells her that she should recycle it instead. Later, they receive a comic called Look After Your Planet that offers a prize of a tree to plant if you're able to collect enough stuff to recycle. Charlie and Lola do their best, but find that they need some help.

    Lola is becoming frustrated with the reading, writing and counting she is learning at school. She's ready to give up, but Charlie doesn't think it's such a good idea. He does her best to convince her as to why it would be a good idea to learn these things. He helps her by reminding her of something that she wasn't good at, but got better by practicing.

    When Marv comes over to go on a trip with Charlie, he brings his little brother, Morten. Morten is about the same age as Lola and she's convinced he will want to play with her and become her new "friend down the stairs." Morten, however, seems to ignore all Lola's attempts to play with him and doesn't say a word. Lola begins to think Morten doesn't like her, but finds that sometimes it takes a while for some people to come out of their shell.

  • S02E26 I Wish I Could Draw Exactly More Like You

    When the kids are all assigned to draw pictures of their homes for school, Lotta takes the assignment very seriously. While Charlie, Lola and Marv have fun making their pictures, she becomes frustrated when she can't get her walls exactly straight and the yellow marker runs out. Then, Charlie shows her pictures in his Dad's artwork. She learns about various styles of art --- all expressing great creativity and not necessarily entirely true-to-life.

Season 3

  • SPECIAL 0x2 Everything is Different and Not the Same

    It is the beginning of Autumn term at school, and Lola finds that everything is different. She and Lotta have new sitting places, she has a new teacher, the school smells funny, and the leaves have fallen off of her favourite tree. Meanwhile, Charlie and Marv create a time capsule for the Autumn Fair.

    When Lola learns that she's going to be visiting the optician to have her eyes checked, she doesn't want to go. She's already checked her own eyes and they're fine at everything from reading, to seeing shapes and colors. Then, Lola and Lotta realize that their friend Mini Reader wears glasses and learn all about them from her. Suddenly, Lola really wants glasses and is sure she will pick out the perfect pair. Charlie, however, warns her that she will only get glasses if the optician discovers something wrong with her eyes.

  • S03E02 Thunder Completely Does Not Scare Me

    Lola claims she's not afraid of thunder, but she keeps jumping and screaming every time she hears a thunderclap. Charlie knows that she's scared and tries to show her that thunderstorms are nothing to be afraid of. He views the storm together with her, an intense storm that later changes to hail. He also teaches her all about the weather, pretending to be a television weather reporter.

    Lola says that she is a good listener, but she often gets lost in her own things and does not pay attention to what is being said to her properly. When she and Charlie get a puppet theater from Granny and Grandpa, Lola does not listen when Charlie reads the instructions and puts it together all wrong. Lola does not listen at school and spills water, and also causes herself and Charlie to miss a fun party being held by Arnold Wolf. Charlie, however, is convinced that Lola can learn to listen and has a great idea to help her.

    Lotta is returning from a summer trip and she and Lola have bought each other gifts, as they always do after one of these trips. Lotta really likes the colorful friendship bracelet that Lola got for her, but Lola is less enamored with the garishly colorful hat that Lotta gives her. It's big, wildly colored, and itchy. Lola really doesn't want the hat, but both she and Charlie agree that Lotta's feelings will be work if she tells her that she doesn't like it. Lola tries various tactics such as "accidentally" losing the hat, or giving it away to Arnold. Arnold really likes it, and wears it everywhere, from breakfast to his bath. When Lotta sees this, however, she asks what's happening, and Lola ends up wearing the hat again. Then, just when Lola is starting to actually like the hat, she finds it in jeopardy.
