With Sage’s tour opening in barely two months, Tal, Dondre, Poppy, and Odalie realize just how hard they’ll have to push themselves if they want to truly become a professional dance squad. East-O’s sudden death leaves Rigo with questions and a challenge to his father’s throne in the form of his prodigal Uncle Matty, while Sage surprises Collette by bringing in a frenemy from her past to run point on the tour.
Nine and King develop plans to take Rigo’s music to the next level while Rigo’s ties to the streets continue to put a strain on his music and his relationship with Poppy. Meanwhile, Odalie and Davis hit hard times and tension between Tal and Zo grows as Sage heats things up in preparation for the tour.
Odalie, with the help of Davis, attempts to work through a debilitating injury and preserve her spot on tour as Tal tries to assuage himself of his guilt and earn Odalie's forgiveness. As Rigo's star rises, he struggles to keep the peace amongst his friends and decipher who to trust. Meanwhile, Dondre finally meets the real Sage Odom.
With the tour just four days away, the dancers make final preparations for their big opening night. Poppy’s mom visits High Water for the first time. Tal learns some shocking news from Zo. Rigo gets some help with his dance routine from an unlikely source. Odalie takes a last desperate step. Sage and Collette make a series of stunning final moves to assure the tour’s success.
The tour begins! Sage and the dancers take the stage on opening night in Atlanta. Dondre learns a secret that changes everything between him and Poppy. Rigo learns the truth about the death of his father. Odalie has her moment to shine. Uncle Al has a huge surprise for Davis and Justin. Sage has a dramatic proposal for Collette. A shocking return from his past astonishes Tal.
A troubled Rigo must choose between abandoning the lucrative tour or headline the tour to help rescue the man who possibly murdered his father. With his lifelong friend and supporter Poppy by his side, he turns the tables on Sage and Collette just when they are most vulnerable. As friendship blossoms between Odalie and Angel, Odalie finds understanding and courage to purchase her own house, leaving Davis in the cold. Busted for selling drugs, Marquise is approached by D.A. Erin Baxter to help take Sage Odom down.
Prohibited from performing at the BMT Awards, house-arrested Sage reluctantly agrees with Collette to let Rigo perform in his slot. It takes both Poppy and Collette to convince Rigo to make the appearance which will boost tour sales. Meanwhile, to the annoyance of Odalie, Angel meets Marquise and both are smitten with one another. At the live awards performance, Rigo has a surprise for everyone that changes the direction of the entire tour.
Sage’s actions the night of the BMT Awards has landed him back in jail. Collette is trying to keep everything together and the tour afloat. Marquise’s meddling is upsetting everyone from Rigo to Collette to Poppy to Odalie; only Angel is enamored. At the Tabernacle, Rigo thrills the audience, but is confronted by haters. Sparks ignite as Collette consoles a shaken Rigo – what will it mean for Sage and Poppy?
At Sage’s evidentiary hearings, courtroom testimonies provoke betrayals and hostility. The D.A.’s strategy is working and Sage could be tried for murder. Things are increasingly dicey between Sage and Collette as they both struggle to assert Sage’s innocence. Meanwhile things heat up between Marquise and Angel, but their fragile relationship is headed for trouble.
Sage is freed from jail and ready to reclaim the tour as headliner. The Chicago show will be Rigo’s final performance and he’s under pressure to come up with new material. Poppy and Collette butt heads over Rigo. Odalie hatches a plan to keep Angel in Atlanta – and closer to her. Poppy and Tal work overtime to develop new routines for Rigo’s last show.
