Police Academy

1984

Due to a shortage of police officers, the newly-elected female mayor of an unnamed American city has announced a policy requiring the police department to accept all willing recruits, effectively abolishing fitness requirements, educational levels, and medical standards. Not everyone in the police force is happy about the new changes.

Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment

1985

Mahoney and his mates have just graduated from the Police Academy, and as rookie cadets they have to go on a mission. Police Academy 3: Back in Training

1986

The city has two police academies, one under the command of Eric Lassard and the other of Mauser. Mauser learns that the state will close one of the two academies due to lack of funds. To protect himself, he talks to Kyle Banks and Chad Copeland and bribes them to make sure that Lassard's cadets fail. Lassard, in turn, calls in his favourite graduates: Mahoney, Hightower, Jones, Tackleberry and Hooks who, together with Callahan, try to train the cadets in the hope of saving the Academy.

The recruits are in Miami for an academy convention at which Commander Lassard, who recently retired, will be honoured with the title of policeman of the decade. Lassard accidentally comes into possession of stolen jewellery and is kidnapped by a gang. When he hears about it, his recruits once again gather to rescue him.

Police Academy 6: City Under Siege

1989

This crazy group of police officers is called out on a mission: they are to hunt down a gang that is robbing banks and jewellery shops. With their talent for mischief, they take on the criminal gang. Under the false suspicion that a spy is infiltrating his police station, Captain Harris helps to make the situation even worse.

Police Academy: The Animated Series

1988

Based on the notoriously popular Police Academy movies, this show chronologically takes place between the fourth and fifth film. Twelve characters are re-created for this animated version, including a team of Academy graduates led by Carey Mahoney, a likeable rogue bachelor boy, who unconsciously -- and consistently -- does his best to make life miserable for Captain Harris and his knucklehead assistant Sgt. Proctor. Mahoney's friends include the aptly named Moses Hightower, walking sound effects machine Larvell Jones, trigger-happy Eugene Tackleberry, sweet & timid Laverne Hooks, tough-as-nails Debbie Callahan, larger-than-life House, and the bread-&-butter duo of reformed gang member Zed and his best buddy, Sweetchuck. Eric Lassard is the highly-respected (albeit dreamy) Commandant, and Academy newcomer The Professor is also on hand, stocking our crime-fighting heroes with an endless supply of wacky gadgets as they combat a motley crew of recurring villains such as Num
