MOM and Diana decide to break Martin of his habit of always borrowing their stuff. But that's soon overshadowed by the problems at the Center's base in the Canadian Arctic where Martin has the choice of co-operating with his old rival Marvin (who blames Martin for his transfer to the frozen tundra) or becoming a host for the bodysnatching creature that's been accidentally unearthed and is growing stronger with every host it takes.

Martin, Diana und Java werden in die Antarktis geschickt, um dort nach einem Außenposten der Basis zu sehen, der sich nicht mehr meldet. Es stellt sich heraus, dass dort bei einer Ausgrabung versehentlich ein Parasit freigesetzt worden ist, der sich in die Menschen einnistet und sie dann beherrscht. Als zuerst auch Diana und dann abwechselnd die restliche Besatzung der Station – unter ihnen auch Marvin, der strafversetzt worden war – zum Parasiten-Wirt werden, spitzt sich die Situation zu.
