午前〇時。京都大火の実行時間になり動き出す吾一たちは、警官たちに追われる志々雄の部下たちの姿を目撃する。作戦実行の時間になっても火の手が上がらず苛立つ蝙也。そして十本刀たちのもとに伝令が届く。伝令を聞き、十本刀はそれぞれ動き出す。その裏で、大阪湾に着いた剣心たちが目にしたものとは——。

It is now midnight. Goichi and the others start moving as it is time to put the Great Kyoto Fire plan into action, when they witness Shishio's other underlings being chased by the police. Henya is annoyed that the fires haven't started on time. Meanwhile, an order is dispatched to the Ten Swords, and they start moving upon hearing their orders. Behind the scenes, Kenshin and the rest arrive at Osaka Bay only to come across something.
Prima dell'inizio dell'incendio, la polizia arresta alcuni uomini e sventa il piano di Shishio. Intanto Kenshin e gli altri arrivano al molo, dove sta per salpare una nave.

La policía y la gente de Kioto, lidereada por Misao, evitan los incendios. Por otro lado, Kenshin y Shishio se ven las caras en el puerto de Osaka.
