Darken will Fantaghiró wieder zum Leben erwecken, sobald Tarabas seinen Widerstand gegen das Böse aufgibt. Als dieser zum Schein darauf eingeht, beginnt Fantaghiró tatsächlich wieder zu atmen. Allerdings bleibt sie weiterhin mit Fidor, dessen wahre Identität sie nicht kennt, gefangen ...
Darken promises to bring Fantaghirò back to life if Tarabas will embrace his dark side again. Tarabas is reluctant, but Fiodor talks him into it. It is revealed that Fiodor is actually Romualdo, transformed by Darken into a hideous monster in order to torment him with never being able to return to Fantaghirò. Fiodor also makes Tarabas promise to take care of Fantaghirò. Tarabas finally agrees to become evil again if it means that Fantaghirò can live, and Darken revives her. While Tarabas tries to convince Darken of his evil "honesty", Fantaghirò conspires with Fiodor, Angelica and a revived Parsel to rescue the stolen castles from Darken's collection and escape from the underground kingdom. After Darken is temporarily subdued, Tarabas, Xellesia and a reluctant Black Witch join the group in escaping from Darken's kingdom. Along the way, Xellesia sacrifices herself so her son will be safe.
Le diabolique Darken, père de Tarabas, est bien décidé à conquérir le monde en le réduisant à néant. L'enfant guerrier Parsel lance un appel à l'aide de l'Orient : le mal s'apprête à prendre le pouvoir. De son côté, Fantagaro est affaiblie par la mystérieuse disparition de Romualdo et celle de son peuple, provoquées par le passage du « nuage noir ». Elle n'a cependant pas perdu son courage et répond à l'appel du jeune Parsel. Fantagaro, Parsel et Tarabas ...
Darken promette di riportare Fantaghirò in vita se Tarabas abbraccerà di nuovo il suo lato oscuro. Tarabas è riluttante, ma Fiodor lo convince. Si scoprirà che Fiodor è in realtà Romualdo, trasformato da Darken in un terribile mostro per tormentarlo del fatto che non potrà mai più tornare da Fantaghirò. Fiodor fa anche promettere a Tarabas di prendersi cura di Fantaghirò. Tarabas acconsente finalmente a diventare di nuovo cattivo se questo significa che Fantaghirò vivrà, e Darken la resuscita. Mentre Tarabas prova a convincere Darken della sua "onesta" cattiveria, Fantaghirò cospira con Fiodor, Angelica e un rianimato Parsel per salvare i castelli rubati dalla collezione di Darken e fuggire dal regno sotterraneo. Dopo che Darken è temporaneamente sottomesso, Tarabas, Xellesia e una riluttante Strega Nera si uniscono al gruppo per la fuga dal regno di Darken. Lungo il percorso, Xellesia si sacrifica così che suo figlio possa essere al sicuro.
