Jay C. Flippen was a prolific character actor who appeared in over 100 films and TV shows. He was already a veteran performer on radio and Broadway stage when he made his screen debut in Million Dollar Ransom (1934). He had his biggest film successes during the 1950s and 60s, with roles in Winchester '73, The Lemon Drop Kid, The Wild One, Oklahoma!, Cat Ballou and Hellfighters. His television credits include Route 66, The Untouchables, Ensign O'Toole, Burke's Law, The Virginian along with many more
