Ashka hat von Summor erfahren, dass Paul und Riana sich in Clayhill befinden. Sie erteilt den Befehl, Paul bis zu ihrer Ankunft festzuhalten. Die obrigkeitshörige Maran unterstützt Pauls Festnahme. Aber als sie begreift, dass die Spellbinder auch ihre Familie bedrohen, bietet sie dem Summoner und seinen Leuten Tee an, der mit einem starken Schlafmittel versetzt ist. Paul kann fliehen aber Rianas Familie muss sich vor der erbosten Ashka verstecken. Alex und Katrina überreden eine alte Nonne, sie in ihrem Auto zum Mount Lara mitzunehmen. Alex hängt das Stahlseil auf, denn alles muss genauso sein, wie beim letzten Mal. Paul geht inzwischen zum Verkündungsturm, um in seine Welt zurückzukehren. Doch Ashka ist ihm auf den Fersen.
Paul and Riana get caught by Summoners and Riana's family help them to escape, now they must all flee the village. Paul, wearing a power suit, manages to open the doorway into his world, but unbeknown to him, Ashka is hiding, waiting for an opportunity to pass into his world. Katrina's voice comes over Ashka's Eyestone, alerting Paul to Ashka's presence. There is a struggle between Ashka and Paul at the mouth of the cave. Riana arrives and distracts Ashka so Paul is able to pass into his world. He turns back to see Riana threatened by Ashka, so he grabs her and drags her into his world. A frightened Riana stares at the immensity of the world she has come to.
Paul et Riana sont tombés entre les mains du prévot. Les parents de la jeune fille les aident à s'échapper, se mettant eux aussi hors-la-loi. Paul, revêtu de la combinaison, ouvre la porte entre les deux mondes. Mais Ashka est là, bien décidée à passer elle aussi dans l'autre univers...
