Zoe srazí autem mužem, jenže se po něm slehne zem. V baru ho identifikuje jako mrtvého hrdinu města. George přijde za Lavonem ho poprosit, aby mu schválil prodej Lemonina vysněného domu, jinak ho nebude moct jako historickou památku koupit. Brick odjíždí na výlet a Lemon má problémy se svojí mladší sestrou Magnolií.
Zoe ist spät nachts mit dem Auto nach Hause unterwegs, als plötzlich ein Mann vor ihr auf der Straße steht. Geschockt steigt sie aus, doch die Person scheint wie vom Erdboden verschluckt. Völlig aufgelöst eilt sie in die Dorfkneipe, wo sie ein Foto des Mannes entdeckt. Er ist angeblich bereits vor einem Jahr verstorben. Unterdessen steht Zoes Mutter unerwartet in ihrem Haus und bittet ihre Tochter um eine Aussprache. Werden die beiden wieder zueinander finden?
Driving home late one night from a house call, Zoe accidentally hits a man but can't find any signs of him when she gets out of her car. Later, she sees the man's photo hanging in the Rammer Jammer, and George has to break the news to her that the man in the picture died over a year ago. Meanwhile, Lemon and George are ready to buy their dream home until Lavon steps in and refuses to authorize the purchase because it is one of Bluebell's historic properties. Zoe's mom shows up in Bluebell hoping to reconcile with her daughter after keeping the identity of Zoe's real father a secret Zoe's entire life.
