During the production of the original Godzilla (1954), a mysterious suit actor insists on never removing the Godzilla costume and even calls himself “Goji.” When crew members finally attempt to take the suit off, they discover he has melted and fused into it, his flesh literally becoming one with the rubber suit.
During the filming of Godzilla Raids Again (1955), the fused Godzilla-suit man returns to the set. In the climactic battle, he viciously attacks the Anguirus suit actor, biting the actor’s neck and drawing blood. The Anguirus actor collapses as the Godzilla-suit man stands over him protectively; the Anguirus actor’s body begins to merge with his own monster suit in a similar fashion.
Set during King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962), this episode depicts the first on-screen kill by the Man in the Suit. During a confrontation meant to mirror Godzilla vs. King Kong, the Godzilla-suit man fatally overpowers the King Kong suit actor (instead of the film’s original ending where Kong wins).
A short entry in which the series’ human protagonist shows his friend Elisa evidence of the “Man in the Suit” and how much he has changed by 1962.
TITLE TRANSLATION: "Trial of the Suit" (1958)... The protagonist uncovers a 1958 film reel labeled “適合試験” (translated as “Conformity Test”). The footage shows experiments being conducted on “Goji”, including audio frequency tests, as scientists attempt to study or control the fused man.
The protagonist receives a mysterious VHS tape in the mail – notably, it did not come from Toho Studios. The tape’s content includes ominous footage or audio from the Man in the Suit, who angrily accuses unseen recipients: “You took everything from me”...
After the protagonist is fired from the project, he hires a spy to investigate. The spy uncovers a tape labeled “Dorsal Extraction.” In this footage, Toho scientists are shown surgically removing one of Godzilla’s dorsal plates from the Man in the Suit’s back in an attempt to weaken or study him.
A brief installment set in 1956 (chronologically the third event). It shows the aftermath of the 1955 incident: the Anguirus suit actor, now partially fused with his monster suit, is being examined by the authorities.
Set just before the events of 1964, this stylized episode presents a newspaper clipping instead of video footage. The newspaper text reflects on everyday life continuing normally (“the outside air, the car, the house – have they just moved on? Have we forgotten?”).
During the filming of Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964), the Man in the Godzilla suit goes berserk on set. He first destroys the Mothra puppet, then attacks the actress inside the Mothra larva suit, brutally injuring her and killing her parents who intervene. As with prior incidents, the Man in the Suit tries to “protect” the victim – the woman in the larva suit – who by now is fusing with her costume.
An unusual episode delivered through a series of “updates.” The YouTube description contains a transcript of a secret conversation (in English) between three individuals. In this dialogue, a Toho representative and another party discuss a deal to cover up the past incidents in exchange for profits and mention plans for a film featuring a “three-headed monster” (Ghidorah) with a new, safer suit. They note the improved Ghidorah costume will have thick, reinforced skin that “he can’t chomp on”.
The final episode takes place during the filming of Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964). Despite Toho’s precautions, the Godzilla-suit man attacks again. He bites into one of the Ghidorah suit’s three heads and spits his corrosive, radioactive blood inside, managing to infect the new Ghidorah suit actor...
