Weil Ray und Robert vor dem Fernseher immer wieder darüber streiten, ob die Polizeiserie "Cops" der Realität nahe kommt, beschließt Robert, seinen Bruder für eine Nacht mit auf Streife zu nehmen. Nach ein paar Stunden gähnender Langeweile kehren die beiden in einer Pizzeria ein, die prompt überfallen wird. Ray sucht schleunigst Deckung, während Robert den Gangster überwältigt. Das beeindruckt Raymond so sehr, dass er einen Artikel über die Nachtstreife schreibt. Doch der wird von seiner Redaktion so umgeschrieben, dass Ray als Held dasteht und Roberts Anwesenheit kaum erwähnt wird. Robert ist tief enttäuscht, doch das war noch nicht alles: Jetzt macht ihm auch noch Marie Vorwürfe, weil er Raymond unnötig in Gefahr gebracht hat. Bei einem Spaziergang mit dem Hund sprechen sich Ray und Robert aus und schließen wieder Frieden. Doch sie haben Maries Rat, ihre Jacken zuzumachen, ignoriert und können nun - schwer krank - noch einige Tage gemeinsam "Cops" gucken...
Raymond decides to spend a shift accompanying his brother Robert, a policeman. Initially, spending a shift in the back of Robert's patrol car bores Raymond and he wonders why he even bothered putting on the bullet-proof vest. But his boredom quickly turns to terror during a chance visit to Nemo's restaurant that puts them in the middle of the hold-up. When Robert saves the day by throwing a hot pizza in the burglar's face, Raymond sees for the very first time how courageous his brother really is.

Raymond decide passar um turno acompanhando seu irmão Robert, um policial. Inicialmente, passar um turno na traseira do carro-patrulha de Robert aborrece Raymond e ele se pergunta por que se deu ao trabalho de vestir o colete à prova de balas. Mas seu tédio rapidamente se transforma em terror durante uma visita casual ao restaurante de Nemo, que os coloca no meio do processo. Quando Robert salva o dia jogando uma pizza quente no rosto do ladrão, Raymond vê pela primeira vez o quão corajoso é seu irmão.
Os irmãos assistem juntos a um programa policial e Ray diz que Robert, mesmo sendo policial, não passa por tantos perigos; Robert o convida para ver como é sua rotina; vendo como o irmão arrisca a vida, Ray passa a enxergá-lo de um modo diferente.
