Before Rob and Sean even walk into the doors of Coast Mountain Bus which is the company operating the public transit buses in Greater Vancouver, the boys, in learning how to be public transit bus drivers, must first obtain their class 2 drivers license, which isn't as easy as they would like. Once at Coast Mountain, they learn that inherent customer skills are more important than inherent driving skills as their trainers believe anyone can learn how to drive a conventional forty foot bus.
In training to become officers of the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), Rob and Sean visit the VPD's chief recruiter, Sergeant Steve Elson, who gets them to write the entrance exam, which is based primarily on grade 12 Math and English. Beyond passing the exam, Elson talks about what they look for as characteristics for a good police officer. He then takes them on a their next exam, a 2.4 km run around Brockton Point in Stanley Park, which they must complete in under 12 minutes.
Even though they know it's in large part acting, Rob and Sean are a bit nervous the first time they step into the ring to train to become pro wrestlers, as they learn that it is still a physically demanding activity, and that most of the equipment, such as the mat, ropes and turnbuckles, aren't as soft as they thought. ECCW wrestlers Scotty Mac, Mark Vellios aka 'Gorgeous' Michelle Starr, and Artemis Spencer show them some basic moves. Rob and Sean are, however, most excited about coming up with their wrestling personae and filming a promo as their characters.
Rob and Sean's next job is one they consider stereotypically gay: working in a salon and spa. They meet with Kim McIver, the Division Director for Eveline Charles Academy in Vancouver. Kim tells them that 90% of making a salon/spa customer happy is in customer relations, much of which is covered in the initial customer consultation, which Kim teaches them how to conduct. Then under the instruction of Jessica Robertson and Vanessa Jellis, they are taught how to do three salon treatments: a pedicure, an upper lip wax, and a hair cut of long straight hair.
Rob and Sean head to the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts to learn how to be chefs. They are both confident in their abilities in this area, Sean who admits to be a cooking show junkie, and Rob who says he likes to experiment in the kitchen. The institute's chef de cuisine and sommelier Tim Ellison shows them the components of steak Oscar, including how to prep and cook the beef tenderloin, the Bearnaise sauce, initially what is the live dungeness crab, and the side vegetables.
Rob and Sean have no idea what the day holds in store for them when they walk onto the grounds of VanDusen Botanical Garden, where they will learn how to be gardeners. That "not knowing" also includes having no idea how they will be judged in their continuing head-to-head competition. But whatever the competition, both are confident they can win as both gardened as children with their respective mother. James Warkentin, superintendent of the Garden, takes them on a tour of the entire facility, and shows them some of the regular chores that need to be done at the Garden.
