Conan, Ai und die Detective Boys gucken sich am Neujahrstag im Nationalstadion das Pokalfinale an. Während der Übertragung meldet sich ein anonymer Erpresser beim Bildregisseur von Nichiuri TV, Herrn Kaneko. Der Erpresser verlangt eine halbe Million Dollar und befiehlt Kaneko, auf Ai zu schwenken, die eine blaue Mütze trägt. Als ihr der Wind die Mütze vom Kopf auf das Spielfeld weht, fällt ein Schall gedämpfter Schuss, der den Ball zerfetzt. Megure erscheint am Tatort und platziert Zivilpolizisten unter den Zuschauern, die alle Leute im Visier behalten sollen, die telefonieren, da der Erpresser sich noch einmal melden will, um die Übergabemodalitäten zu regeln. Conan belehrt Megure darüber, dass der Erpresser einen Komplizen hat. Und tatsächlich taucht eine mysteriöse Gestalt zur Geldübergabe auf, die von den Zivilbullen flugs überwältigt wird. Allerdings meldet sich der erste Erpresser erneut per Telefon und verlangt dessen Freilassung.
On New Years day there was a soccer game taking place in Tokyo and the Detective Boys including the new member, Ai Haibara got to watch the game. During the game the TV station was forced to aim the camera below where the Detective Boys were sitting and where the soccer ball was. Then the soccer ball jumped up and deflated. Conan jumps down and realizes that the ball was shot by a gun with a silencer on it. The caller who forced the station to aim the camera also forces them to pay huge amounts of money or else, someone dies!
Les Détectives Junior avec leur nouvelle amie Haibara vont au stade assister à un match de football. Sur place, Conan remarque qu'un ballon a été atteint par un tir d'arme à feu. La police prévenue, ils découvrent qu'un individu menace la chaîne de télévision qui retransmet le match. Si une somme d'argent n'est pas délivrée dans un sac à l'intérieur du stade, l'homme menace de tirer dans la foule.

Conan junto a la liga juvenil de detectives y su nueva integrante Ai, acuden a ver un partido de Fútbol. En el transcurso de este, una pelota de fútbol cercana en la cancha es disparada. Pronto los niños se enteran que el estadio ha sido tomado como rehén, piden 50 millones de yenes a la cadena que transmite el partido. La policía y la liga juvenil de detectives buscan deseperadamente a quien esta tras esta jugada.
