貴之が、小説を原作とする新作映画のプロモーションを担当することになった。偶然にも子供の頃の友達と同じ名前の原作者・五十嵐元晴（いがらし もとはる）に親近感を覚える貴之は、打ち合わせに備え、同じ作家の別の小説も読み漁るうちにすっかりファンに。そしていよいよ本人との打ち合わせの日を迎えるが、不思議なことに、初対面のはずの元晴から子供の頃のことを次々と言い当てられ、その観察眼の鋭さに感心しきりだが……？
