Paolo kann sich durch seine hervorragende Arbeit als Ermittler vor Eva rehabilitieren. Doch als es ihm gelingt, den gesuchten Serientäter im Wald zu stellen, sind ihm die Hände gebunden. Noch ist Paolo nur polizeilicher Berater und unbewaffnet. Zumindest bleibt ein kleiner Hinweis auf die Identität des Mannes zurück. Die Spur führt zu einem Bombenentschärfer, der vor vielen Jahren im Dienst verunglückt ist.
