Steve badgers Brandon into pledging the Kappa Epsilon Gamma fraternity. The frat brothers disapprove of Brandon's involvement with Josh and the Progressives. Brandon disassociates himself from the party when it proposes the elimination of all fraternities and sororities. He disappoints Steve by not joining the KEG house, but is made an honorary member. Kelly, Donna, Brenda and Andrea pledge the Alpha Omega sorority. Kelly runs into John Sears, a guy who spread rumors about her after they dated in high school. He insists that he has changed, and Kelly stays out late talking with him after a party (which Dylan refused to attend). Dan Rubin, Andrea's resident advisor, warns her of possible discrimination. Andrea wears a necklace of the Star of David to a ceremony, and the sorority president chastises her for "making an issue" of being Jewish. Leslie later explains that she is Jewish, but not very religious; she apologizes for projecting her personal issues onto the house. Only Kelly and Donna elect to join a sorority. Donna livens up the late night radio show when she compares David to a dog. Le ragazze sono alle prese con la scelta dell'associazione universitaria a cui iscriversi. La scelta di tutte e quattro cade sull'associazione delle Alfa Omega ma quando Andrea viene messa a disagio dalle altre "sorelle" perché ebrea, le ragazze decidono di rivedere la propria decisione. Alla fine Donna e Kelly scelgono di fare domanda alle Alfa Omega mentre Brenda ed Andrea preferiscono non iscriversi a nessun'associazione. Steve invita tutti gli amici alla festa della confraternita. Brandon diventa il rappresentante delle matricole al Senato Studentesco ma quando si accorge che le sue idee non vengono neanche prese in considerazione, lascia il posto. Kelly incontra John Sears, un suo vecchio amore di cui ha un pessimo ricordo, ma il ragazzo sembra cambiato. Il lavoro notturno alla radio mette in crisi Donna e David ma i due ragazzi sono soddisfatti quando scoprono che la loro trasmissione è molto popolare.
Brandon tiene que elegir entre aceptar la invitación de Steve de acudir a la misma fraternidad que él, Kappa Epsilon Gamma, o por el contrario aceptar la oferta de Josh, ya que el partido progresista al que representaría pretende eliminar las hermandades tanto masculinas como femeninas. Kelly se encuentra con John Sears, un antiguo novio del Instituto que tras romper con él fue difamándola, dicho encuentro la disgusta mucho.
