大翔（鈴木伸之）の中日ドラゴンズ時代の後輩・真鍋（和田雅成）が、ユニホームを脱ぎ引退すると連絡してきた。突然の話に驚いた大翔は「あきらめるな」と必死に説得するが真鍋の決意は固く、２人は衝突してしまう。
その頃バントマンたちは、かつて将来を嘱望されていたが今は閑職に追いやられている北村（宮下貴浩）をターゲットに活動を開始。そんな北村の境遇に、大翔はついドラフト1位で入団しながら戦力外となった自身を投影してしまう。
Manabe (Wada Masanari), a junior of Hiroto (Suzuki Nobuyuki) from his time with the Chunichi Dragons, informs him that he is taking off his uniform and retiring. Shocked by the sudden news, Hiroto desperately tries to persuade him not to give up, but Manabe is determined, and the two end up clashing. Meanwhile, the buntmen begin their activities targeting Kitamura (Miyashita Takahiro), who was once a promising young player but has now been relegated to a passive position. Hiroto can't help but see himself projected onto Kitamura's situation, as he was a first round draft pick but was cut from the team.
