American computer-animated science fiction comedy films produced by Sony Pictures Animation and loosely based on the 1978 children's book of the same name by Judi and Ron Barrett.
After his latest creation accidentally destroys the city center and then shoots up into the sky, Flint Lockwood initially fears that his career as an inventor is over. But then the unbelievable happens: It rains delicious cheeseburgers - his machine works! But people just can't get enough of the tasty treats until the machine goes haywire and unleashes gigantic spaghetti tornadoes with huge meatballs onto the earth. With the help of weather reporter Sam Sparks and his assistant Steve, a talking monkey, Flint must find a way to shut down the runaway machine before the world is buried under the mega-sized meatballs.
Inventor Flint Lockwood and his friends have saved the world from the food storm created by the "Flint Lockwood Diatonic Super Mutating Dynamic Food Replicator" (FLDSMDFR) but this has left their island home town of Swallow Falls covered in food. Super-inventor Chester V, the CEO of Live Corp and Flint's childhood idol, offers his company's services to clean the island and helps to relocate the population to nearby San Franjose, California. Chester also invites Flint to work at Live Corp.
The food island will over load and is going to swallow the world. The characters will have to find a way for them to take the island and shoot it in to space and let it create their own planet.
