Crow und Jack müssen gegen zwei Mitglieder aus dem Team Catastrophe antreten. Um die Duelle zu gewinnen, zögern die beiden aus dem Team Catastrophe nicht, üble Tricks einzusetzen.
Crow continues to bear the pain of his arm, whilst he avoids Hidden Knight Hook's assaults on his Duel Runner. He eventually manages to destroy it, and knock Hermann out by summoning out his Black-Winged Dragon, but when Hermann tries to revive his Hidden Knight Hook, Crow sacrifices his dragon in order to completely destroy Hidden Knight Hook before it can attack him, and then defeats Hermann. His arm at the peak of his pain, Crow passes the duel on to Jack, who begins the next round against Nicholas. Nicholas uses another Card of Darkness, a trap intended to knock both of them out, however it hurts both of them, as Primo has no more use for Nicholas, and allowed his protection against the Card of Darkness to expire. Jack escapes defeat, thanks to his monster's special ability, and rescues Nicholas before he crashes. With Nicholas' Duel Runner destroyed, Team 5D's automatically qualifies for the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Primo unleashes his army of Ghosts (collectively known as "The Diablo") throughout the city.
Malgré la douleur qu'il a au bras, Crow continue à éviter les attaques de plus en plus nombreuses et ténébreuses du Chevalier au Crochet Caché sur son Duel Runner. Crow invoque son Dragon Ailes Sombres et arrive à mettre hors jeu Hermann, ainsi que son Chevalier au Crochet Caché. Arrivant à sa limite, Crow laisse Jack s'occuper du deuxième duelliste Nicolas. Cependant, Nicolas utilise une autre carte des ténèbres, destinée à les mettre tous les deux hors jeu. Malgré tout, Jack reste dans la partie grâce à l'effet de son monstre, venant au secours de Nicolas avant qu'il ne crashe. Son Duel Runner étant détruit, ce dernier est incapable de passer le relai à son partenaire, donnant à l'équipe 5D's son billet pour la finale. Dans le même temps, Primo envoie son armée de Robots duellistes, surnommée Diablo, à travers la ville.
チームユニコーンのメンバーが連続でクラッシュした原因は、タイヤがロックされたからだった。しかし、どんな方法でロックが仕掛けられたのかわからないまま、予選 第２戦チームカタストロフとのデュエルが始まってしまう。初戦はクロウVSヘルマン。肩の傷が完全に癒えていないながらも、仲間の敵を討つ為に必死に立ち向かうクロウ。ヘルマンは不可思議な物理攻撃を次々と仕掛けてくる。はたしてクロウは敵の攻撃の秘密を見破り、勝利を手にすることができるのだろうか？
