Na Vánoce zůstává Xavierův institut téměř prázdný - zůstávají jen ti, kteří nemají, kam by se na svátky vrátili, což znamená Hank, Charles, Rogue a Scott. Ovšem ani tak si moc neodpočinou. Vánoce jsou sice svátky klidu, míru a zázraků, ovšem i standartní míra zázraku má své meze a záhadný muž poletující nad městem na andělských křídlech a zachraňující co mu přijde pod ruku k nim rozhodně nepatří.

Xavier starts worrying about the existence of mutants becoming public knowledge when the media starts reporting multiple sightings of a man with angel wings. With most of the X-men on Christmas leave, and Cerebro down for repairs, Scott and Rogue are left having to track the man down themselves.

Um mutante alado aparece no noticiário da TV, responsável pelas boas ações de salvamento que pratica. Trata-se de Warren Worthington III, o Anjo, e torna-se interesse do Professor Xavier e também de Magneto. Vampira e Ciclope vão atrás do Anjo e lhe propõem que se junte aos X-men na mansão. Magneto também tenta trazer Anjo para o seu lado, mes este recusa sua proposta. Na verdade, Anjo só se junta mais tarde aos X-men.
