  • S01E01 Dead in the Water (1)

    The Sydney Water Police investigate a fatal bombing on a charter ferry while trying to locate other explosive devices that may still be located in the harbour. The Nemesis crew scrambles to recapture a murder suspect who escapes custody. Kevin Holloway, Frank's younger brother, joins Homicide and is partnered with Frank's good friend Knocker Harrison. A man claiming to have the missing bomb takes hostages on a passenger ferry. Frank and Rachel stake out a yacht to catch a scantily clad burglar. A diver dismissed from duty dives the site of the ferry wreck to locate the fourth bomb in order to eliminate the hijackers threat. Frank's older brother Jimmy is released from prison two years after Frank put him away as part of a drug bust.

Frank's younger brother Kevin Holloway (Jeremy Callaghan) and ""Knocker"" Harrison :sists Goldie and Frank on the investigation. Meanwhile, a rich businessman is arrested by the ""Nemesis"" crew for being drunk while in charge of a motor launch with a party of Koreans on board. Helen's former lover, Julie Haynes, pays Helen an unexpected visit and asks Helen for a favour.

    Holloway is caught on film collecting an envelope containing a large amount of money that has been left in a waterfront warehouse. Internal Affairs accuse him of taking a bribe but Holloway explains that somebody has been leaving him envelopes all over town with tip-offs inside. This is the first time there has been money.

There's a grim discovery in the harbour of a number of body parts. Jeff Hawker doesn't like the relationship between Cassidy and Watson, and offers Cassidy a job as supporting officer, on the condition that she ends her relationship with Watson.

They suspect Pappas is involved in Kevin Holloway's disappearance. The boat crew accompany the Sheriff to a cargo ship that has docked.

    The body of a teenage boy is found in the boot of a car. There are similarities between this murder and that of another boy 13 months earlier. Holloway makes it his personal quest to find the killer, and he meets a beautiful crime scene officer, Caroline Cox (Mary Regan). Goldie has been denied access to her son, David, for six months, and she does everything to get to see him. Gavin Sykes (Brett Partridge) investigates a boat accident.

    A man is killed when a speed boat is deliberately driven into the back of his vessel. A friend who was with him at the time identifies the person responsible as a well-known crime figure and an old enemy of Frank's: Marty Miller (Peter Kowitz). Sykes takes part in a training course for police divers. Goldie and Knocker seem to get along very well, and a vietnamese cleaner, Thong, is found dead at the Water Police headquarter.

He's surprised when Helen says she also will apply for it.

    Attending a bushfire at a coastal national park, the Nemesis crew notice bloodied tracks in the sand and find a man digging a body in a shallow grave. Dave McCall is at the receiving end of a spear from a sunken and booby-trapped car, loaded with stolen gold ingots. Goldie and Frank Holloway investigate a bouillion robbery. The ""Nemesis"" crew are looking after a prisoner, a former Olympic rowing champion.

    Frank's involvement with Jennifer Campbell who is suspected of her husband's murder deepens, despite warnings from Goldie. Tension between Goldie and Frank is at boiling point. The Water Police gets a new crew member: Tayler Johnson! She's a bit frustrated after her first day, as nobody seems to take any notice of her. And Sergeant Helen Blakemore is not very nice to her.

    A ferry with Tommy on board collides with a large fishing trawler. Tommy tries to control the panic, risking his own life to help passengers escape before the ferry sinks. After the ferry disaster, Tayler unknowingly hands robbery proceeds back to a thief, Sykes looks into the life of his double who was killed in the ferry crash, and Goldie and Holloway try to ascertain who was at fault in the accident.

    Terry jeopardizes his career when he falls into bed with Gina Downie, a woman he rescues when her dive into a shipwreck goes wrong. Terry believes their rendezvous to be just another one-night stand, but she has more sinister intentions which culminate in a near fatal attack on Terry. Frank and Rachel try to solve the puzzle of a woman found floating in the harbor. Was she murdered or did she commit suicide?

    Terry gets caught in the middle of a conflict between her new love interest Brett, the owner of a water taxi company, and his older brother Liam, Who works for a rival company. A sixteen year old boy who is attempting to sail is rescued by the Nemesis crew.

    Three convicts, including those who kidnapped and terrorized Rachel, make a dramatic escape from a prison van and try to make their getaway in a stolen boat on the Parramatta River. Tensions between Hawker and Blackmore escalate.

    A psychic tells Hawker she had a ""vision"" about a missing girl, and detectives are reluctantly brought on the case. Rachel establishes a rapport with the psychic but Holloway is skeptical, is she genuine or is she just after the $10 000 reward money being offered by the girls parents? Rachel meets a new man-and creates a new career for herself.

    After the Nemesis crew hear a gunshot on a yacht in the middle of the night, they find a badly injured woman who makes a garbled statement about ""the man in the moon"" before dying. Holloway and Rachel investigates the killer, a supposedly happily-married real estate agent who leads a double life. Tavitas relationship with an elderly couple ends in tragedy.

An extortionist claims the killing is part of a planned terrorist attack on the Australian tourism industry. Gavin tracks down the man who stole his car.

    When a US Navy fleet cruises into Sydney Harbor over the Mardi Gras weekend the resources of the Water Police are stretched. Rachel and Holloway joins the boat crew in trying to keep order on the harbor as a flotilla of fanatical environmental protesters hinder the Navy's arrival. The weekend takes a violent turn when a teenager is found bashed in the Water Police car park. Livvy, the bar attendant, reveals she overheard five American sailors talking about harassing gays and a posse of off-duty Rats is organized to track them down. Rachel is offered a job in the security business.

    The body of a Melbourne woman is found mutilated at Sydney Harbor, taking detectives Frank Holloway and Rachel Goldstein to Melbourne to investigate. The womans sister and a shady King Street nightclub owner seems to know more than they are letting on. A man pulled from the sea by the Nemesis crew claims his boat was struck by a cargo ship, sending him and his still missing wife overboard.

    The investigation into the death of Melissa Davies continues, but the stakes are raised with the knowledge that her son, Jordan, is still alive.The question is why would these men want the child? Fearing that Jordan may have witnessed her mothers murder, the detectives are desperate to find him before he is killed. An eager young journalist following the Nemesis crew is more interested in Tayler than his story, but Sykes s overly co-operative in what he tells the reporter about his colleagues.

    Rachel has difficulty adjusting to her new partner when Frank goes on an overseas attachment. Rachel and her new partner are thrown together to investigate a mysterious drowning. Constable Sam Bailey competes in a free dive competition.

    A biker is gunned down in a harbor side park and Holloway, Tavita and Sykes has to investigate. The dive team is kept busy when they find packages of drugs floating in the harbor. Dave tries to ease a shaken constable Bailey back to work.

    Tony Brady from Internal Affairs investigates Frank after a petty criminal accuses Frank of assaulting him while in custody. A series of safe robberies in which evidence at the crime scenes points to inside jobs gets investigated by Frank and Rachel. Tayler and Tavita looks after two precocious children when their parents are arrested.

    Frank becomes the prime suspect when Sam Jones is murdered. Goldie and Holloway investigates the disappearance of a young barmaid, last seen alive by Tayler.

    Holloway is suspended from police duties when he gets charged with the murder of Sam Jones. Rachel gets help from her new partner, Sykes, when she sets out to clear his name. Rachel believes Frank is being set up by Melbourne crime figure Charlie Hayes to discredit him as a witness in Gary Travis' upcoming trial (from ep. 45 and 46). The boat crew deal with a pair of jet skiers whose antics are threatening endangered penguin species.

After an accident pins a pregnant woman's arm underneath a boat, Goldie and the Nemesis crew have no choice but to deliver her baby underwater as the tide comes in and submerges the woman.

Tavita and Sykes investigate a fraudulent pet cremation contractor.

    Investigations into an armed holdup incriminate police when witnesses recount how bandits were disguised in police uniforms and escaped in a police car.
