Pretnar je v medijih obtožen spolnih zlorab, zaradi česar ostane brez službe. Nika nadaljuje s svojo raziskavo, a se znajde v slepi ulici.
Nika se sooči se Perotom, ki je bil z njo zadnji na domnevnem kraju zločina, a očitno tudi on ni prava oseba. Ko se Nika že prepriča, da si je najhujši scenarij le domišljala, se pojavi nova sled, ki obudi njene sume. Hafner v svoji stranki išče Perotovega vohuna, Pretnar pa zaradi odpovedi delovnega razmerja toži časopisno hišo. Odgovorna urednica Ema Mrak se obrne na Niko s prošnjo, da bi jih ona zastopala na sodišču.
Pretnar is accused in the media of sexual abuse and loses his job. Nika continues her investigation but finds herself at a dead end. She confronts Pero, who was the last person with her at the alleged crime scene, but he too is clearly not the right suspect. Just as Nika convinces herself that the worst scenario was only imagined, a new lead emerges that rekindles her suspicions. Hafner searches within his party for Pero’s spy, while Pretnar sues the newspaper for wrongful termination. Editor‑in‑chief Ema Mrak turns to Nika, asking her to represent them in court.
