Naval officer Crash Corrigan (Ray "Crash" Corrigan) is demonstrating his athletic ability by tossing a fellow sailor around a wrestling ring, when he gets an urgent message from Professor Norton (C. Montague Shaw) to come to his lab right away. Crash changes into his uniform and rushes over to the lab.
They haven't gone far before they are set upon by a group of mechanical men called Volkites who are armed with ray guns. Crash leads everyone to safety through a narrow pass in a mountainous area. Crash and Billy go to the peak to get a view of the land and see the best way back to the sub. Unga Khan sees this on his view screen and has an aerial torpedo fired at the peak to destroy Crash.
