On April 1, 1939, the Republic definitively died. With it disappeared the political system that had established universal suffrage in Spain, which created the autonomies and addressed the Agrarian Reform. The dream of a modern democratic Spain had been defeated. It would still take almost half a century for the spirit of the Republic to be reborn again. Through ten stories narrated in first person we will relive the experience of thousands of Spaniards who sought refuge abroad. They will help us to understand the illusions and disappointments with which these Spaniards approached their exlio. Exiles that, in some cases lasted a few years, but in others they lasted a lifetime.
