Nach dem Kampf mit seinem Vater, dem Soulcrasher, findet sich Kyosuke in einem mysteriösen Himmelsschloß wieder. Hier trifft er Megumi, die ein weiterer Flicker ist, sowie einen undurchsichtigen Mutant namens Zabo. Megumi hat jedes Vertrauen in andere Menschen verloren, da die Flicker nur existieren, um als Schutzschild für Rena zu dienen. In ihrer Verzweiflung versucht sie Kyosuke zu töten, doch ausgerechnet der seltsame Zabo versucht sie daran zu hindern. In dem anschließenden Kampf mit dem Soultaker versucht Zabo Megumi neue Hoffnung zu geben.
