The Pretender: Island of the Haunted

The film begins with Jarod working as a professor and searching for a mysterious artifact. Both he and Ms. Parker received e-mails containing a photograph of their mothers standing side by side at the end of the previous film, and it is revealed that the artifact Jarod is searching for appears in the photograph, engraved on a wall behind the two women. Jarod's search leads him to a shopkeeper who shows Jarod a small hidden compartment below his store, where the picture of his mother and Mrs. Parker was apparently taken. The shopkeeper believes the shop to be haunted, as occult worship once took place there, and tells Jarod that the engraving on the wall is evidence of this. Meanwhile, Ms. Parker visits the store and leaves with a small doll, then returns to the Centre, where she shows the doll to Angelo. Angelo goes into a fit, drawing a perfect picture of the engraving, and then draws a picture of an old monastery, calling it an "Evil Place" and chanting 'Evil People, Evil Place' repeatedly. The monastery is on the Isle of the Haunted, where Jarod has gone to find his mother. Ms. Parker follows.

Die Filme beginnen dort, wo die NBC Serie aufhörte und führt den Pretender, Jarod, in die Reihen eines National Security Büros, und auf die Fährte eines verrückten Serien-Terroristen, mit dem Codenamen “Chamäleon” – wegen seiner genialen Fähigkeit, sich in jeden Menschen zu verwandeln, der er sein möchte. Da Jarod eine enge Verbindung zwischen dem Chamäleon und ihm, sowie dem letzten Opfer des Chamäleons (ein ehemaliger Agent des Security Büros) befürchtet, wird er in eine gigantische Menschenjagd verwickelt. Diese bringt Jarod – eigenartigerweise – an Orte seiner eigenen Vergangenheit und treibt ihn immer mehr in die Enge.

Mr. Parker si trova in una camera al Centro in stato catatonico, e nessuno sembra sapere come farlo riprendere. Nel frattempo, Jarod finge di essere un archeologo in un'università a Boston, e tenta di trovare una località che riporta uno strano simbolo con otto teschi in circolo. Si scopre che lo stesso simbolo si trova sulla fotografia che Raines ha inviato via e-mail a Jarod e a Miss Parker, fotografia in cui la madre di Jarod si trova con Catherine Parker in piedi davanti ad un muro su cui è raffigurato il simbolo: Jarod crede che il ritrovamento della località potrà servirgli a ritrovare sua madre e a spiegare quindi chi sia lui realmente. Dopo aver localizzato l'edificio, Jarod trova una mappa, in mezzo ad altro materiale in un posto coperto dietro un muro: la mappa raffigura una piccola isola vicino la costa scozzese, e l'isola è soprannominata "Isola degli Ossessionati". Jarod scopre anche che sua madre è passata da quell'isola, e dopo averne parlato con il proprietario scopre che una scatola azzurra manca dal materiale che lui ha trovato. Miss Parker continua a cercare Jarod, ma è sempre un passo dietro di lui e allora deve ricorrere ad Angelo, che sta ancora al Centro ed ha poteri psichici ed empatici. Angelo indica a Miss Parker l'isola verso cui Jarod si sta dirigendo, e la donna corre in quella direzione. Sull'isola, Jarod chiede in giro notizie di sua madre ma i frati Vespesiani sono molto ospitali ma non gli sono utili. Jarod incontra per caso Ocee, una donna cieca che sa della sua ricerca della "donna dai capelli rossi", ovvero sua madre, dicendogli che è in pericolo e che deve correre alla Cappella delle Anime. Mentre è iniziata la "tempesta del diavolo", Jarod e Miss Parker si ritrovano alla Cappella, ma la madre di Jarod, ferita ad un braccio, è andata via con l'ultima barca in partenza dall'isola. Jarod e Miss Parker si ritrovano bloccati sulla strana isola insieme ad Ocee in una situazione di vita o di morte, e alcune importanti rivela
