Season 1

  • S01E01 The Creation (Genesis 1:1-2:4)

    • May 20, 1986

    God creates this earth and its heaven and all forms of life in six days - Creative acts of each day set forth - God rests on the seventh day.

  • S01E02 Noah and the Flood (Genesis 6:1-9:17)

    Men turn to wickedness; earth is filled with violence; all flesh is corrupted - God establishes his covenant with Noah, who builds an ark - Noah's family and various beasts and fowls enter the ark - The flood comes and water covers the whole earth - All other life that breathes is destroyed - The flood ceases - Noah releases all living things from the ark - Noah and his sons commanded to multiply and fill the earth - God shall not again destroy the earth by flood. (NOTE: This account is depicted in simple animation.)

  • S01E03 Abraham - The Journeys (Genesis 11:31-13:18)

    Abram leaves Ur and settles Haran - Abram shall become a great nation - He and his seed shall bless all the families of the earth - He travels from Haran to the land of Canaan - Because of famine he goes down into Egypt - Abram and Sarai tested in Pharaoh's court - Abram returns from Egypt - He and Lot part - The Lord will make Abram's seed as the dust of the earth in number.

  • S01E04 Abraham - The Promise (Genesis 14-17)

    Lot captured in battles of the kings - He is rescued by Abram - Melchizedek blesses Abram - Abram pays tithes - The Lord promises Abram seed in number as the stars - Sarai gives Hagar to Abram as his wife - Hagar bears Ishmael - Abram commanded to be perfect - His name changed to Abraham - The Lord covenants to be a God unto Abraham and his seed forever - Circumcision becomes token of everlasting covenant between God and Abraham - Sarai's name changed to Sarah - She shall bear Isaac, with whom the Lord will establish his covenant - Abraham and his house circumcised.

  • S01E05 Abraham - Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18-19)

    Abraham entertains three holy men - They promise that Sarah shall have a son - They discuss the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah - Lot entertains holy men - The men of Sodom seek to abuse Lot's guests, and are smitten with blindness - Lot sent out of Sodom - The Lord rains brimstone and fire upon Sodom and Gomorrah.

  • S01E06 Abraham is Commanded to Sacrifice Isaac (Genesis 20:1-22:18)

    Abimelech desires Sarah, who is preserved by the Lord - Sarah bears Isaac - Promises to Abraham preserved through Isaac - Hagar and her son cast out of Abraham's household - The Lord saves Hagar and Ishmael - Abraham commanded to sacrifice Isaac, his son - Both father and son yield to the will of God - Abraham's seed shall be as the stars and the sand in number - In his seed all nations shall be blessed.

Season 2

  • S02E01 Rebekah (Genesis 23:1-25:11)

    Sarah dies and is buried in the cave of Machpelah, which Abraham buys from Ephron the Hittite - Abraham Commands that Isaac shall not marry a Canaanite - The Lord guides Abraham's servant in choosing Rebekah as a wife for Isaac - Rebekah blessed to be the mother of thousands of millions - She marries Isaac - Abraham dies and is buried in the cave of Machpelah.

  • S02E02 Esau and Jacob (Genesis 25:20-28:5)

    Rebekah conceives, and Jacob and Esau struggle in her womb - The Lord reveals their destiny to Rebekah - Esau sells his birthright for a mess of pottage - The Lord promises Isaac posterity as the stars of heaven in number - In his seed all nations shall be blessed - The Lord prospers Isaac - Isaac offers sacrifices - Esau marries Hittite wives to the sorrow of his parents - Rebekah guides Jacob in seeking blessings - Jacob is blessed to have dominion and rule over peoples and nations - Esau hates Jacob and plans to slay him - Rebekah fears lest Jacob marry one of the daughters of Heth - Isaac forbid Jacob to marry a Canaanite - He blesses Jacob and his seed with the blessings of Abraham.

  • S02E03 Rachel and Leah (Genesis 28:10-30:43)

    Jacob sees in vision a ladder reaching up into heaven - The Lord promises him seed as the dust of the earth in number - Also, that in him and in his seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed - Jacob covenants to pay tithes - Jacob meets Rachel at the well - He serves Laban seven years for her - Laban gives to Jacob, first Leah, then Rachel in marriage - Jacob serves another seven years - Leah bears Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah - Jacob marries Bilhah and she bears Dan and Naphtali - He marries Zilpah and she bears Gad and Asher - Leah bears Issachar and Zebulun and a daughter, Dinah - Then Rachel conceives and bears Joseph - Jacob works for Laban for wages of cattle and sheep.

  • S02E04 Jacob's Name Changed to Israel (Genesis 31-32)

    The Lord commands Jacob to return to Canaan, and he departs secretly - Laban pursues him; they resolve their differences, and make a covenant of peace - Laban blesses his descendants, and he and Jacob part company - Jacob sees angels - He asks God to preserve him from Esau, for who he prepares presents - He wrestles all night with a messenger of God - Jacob's name is changed to Israel - He sees God face to face.

  • S02E05 The Covenant Continues (Genesis 33-35)

    Jacob and Esau meet and are reconciled - Esau receives Jacob's presents - Jacob settles in Canaan, where he builds an alter - Shechem defiles Dinah - Hivites seek to arrange marriage with Jacob's family - Many, being circumcised, are slain by Simeon and Levi - Jacob reproves them - God sends Jacob to Beth-el, where he builds an altar, and the Lord appears to him - He renews the promise that Jacob shall be a great nation, and that his name shall be Israel - Jacob sets up an altar and pours a drink offering - Rachel bears Benjamin, dies in childbirth, and is buried near Bethlehem - Reuben sins with Bilhah - Isaac dies and is buried by Jacob and Esau.

Season 3

  • S03E01 The Dreamer (Genesis 37-38)

    Jacob loves and favors Joseph, who is hated by his brothers - Joseph dreams that his parents and brothers make obeisance to him - His brothers sell him into Egypt - Judah has three sons by a Cannaanite woman - Er and Onan slain by the Lord - Tamar, as a harlot, bears twins by Judah.

  • S03E02 Joseph Interprets Pharaoh's Dream (Genesis 39:1-41:46)

    Joseph prospered by the Lord, becomes ruler of Potiphar's house - He resists the advances of Potiphar's wife, is falsely accused, and cast into prison - Keeper of the prison commits its affairs into Joseph's hands - Joseph interprets the dreams of Pharaoh's chief butler and chief baker - The butler fails to tell Pharaoh of Joseph - Pharoah dreams of the kine and the ears - Joseph interprets the dreams as seven years of plenty and seven years of famine - He proposes a grain storage program - Pharaoh makes him ruler of all Egypt - Joseph marries Asenath.

  • S03E03 Joseph's Brothers (Genesis 41:46-44:2)

    Joseph gathers grain as the sand upon the seashore - Asenath bears Ephraim and Manasseh - Joseph sells grain to Egyptians and others during the famine - Jacob sends his sons to buy grain in Egypt - They bow before Joseph - He accuses them roughly, imprisons Simeon, and sends them back for Benjamin - Jacob is persuaded to send Benjamin to Egypt - Joseph's brethren make obeisance to him - They all eat and drink together.

  • S03E04 Reconciliation (Genesis 44:3-47:26)

    Joseph arranges to stop the return of his brethren to Canaan - Judah offers himself in place of Benjamin for their father's sake - Joseph makes himself known to his brethren - They rejoice together - Pharaoh invites Jacob and his family to dwell in Egypt and eat the fat of the land - The Lord sends Jacob and his family of seventy souls to Egypt - The generations of Jacob set forth - Joseph meets Jacob - Israelites settle in Goshen - Joseph sells grain to the Egyptians - Pharaoh receives their cattle and lands.

  • S03E05 Israel in Egypt (Genesis 47:27-50:26)

    Jacob desires to be buried with his fathers in Canaan - Jacob tells of the appearance of God to him in Luz - He adopts Ephraim and Manasseh as his own children - Jacob blesses Joseph - He puts Ephraim before Manasseh - Seed of Ephraim shall become a multitude of nations - Israel shall come again into the land of their fathers - Jacob blesses his sons and their seed - Reuben, Simeon, and Levi are chastened - Judah shall bear rule until Shiloh (Christ) comes - Joseph is a fruitful bough by a well - The Shepherd and Stone of Israel (Christ) shall bless Joseph temporally and spiritually - Jacob chooses to be buried with his fathers in Canaan - He yields up the ghost and is gathered to his people - Jacob's body is embalmed - Joseph buries him in Canaan - He comforts his brethren - The children of Israel multiply - Joseph promises that God will bring Israel out of Egypt into Canaan - Joseph dies in Egypt and is embalmed.

Season 4

  • S04E01 The Annunciations (Luke 1)

    Gabriel promises Zacharia that Elisabeth shall bear a son, whom they shall name John - He also tells Mary she shall be the mother of the Son of God - Mary visits Elisabeth and utters a Psalm of praise - John the Baptist is born - Zacharias prophesies of John's mission.

  • S04E02 The Nativity (Luke 2)

    Angelic ministrants herald the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem - He is circumcised, and Simeon and Anna prophesy of his mission - At twelve years he is about his Father's business.

  • S04E03 Baptism, Temptation, and Rejections (Luke 3-4)

    John the Baptist preaches and baptizes - Jesus is baptized and God acclaims him as his Son - Jesus fasts forty days and is tempted of the devil - He announces his divine Sonship in Nazareth and is rejected - He casts out a devil in Capernaum, heals Peter's mother-in-law, and preaches and heals throughout Galilee.

  • S04E04 The Sermon on the Plain (Luke 5-6)

    Peter called - Jesus heals a leper - He forgives sins and heals a paralytic - Matthew is called - The sick need the physician - New wine in new bottles - Jesus heals on the Sabbath - He chooses the Twelve Apostles - He pronounces blessings upon the obedient, woes upon the wicked.

  • S04E05 All Judea Hears of Jesus (Luke 7:1-8:39)

    Jesus heals the centurion's servant - He raises from death the son of the widow of Nain - John the Baptist extolled as more than a prophet - A woman anoints Christ's feet, and he forgives her sins - Jesus gives and interprets the parable of the sower - He stills the tempest - He casts out a legion of devils, who then enter the swine.

Season 5

  • S05E01 The Transfiguration (Luke 8:40-9:62)

    Jesus heals a woman of an issue of blood and raises Jairus' daughter from death - The Twelve sent out - Jesus feeds the five thousand - Peter testifies of Christ - Jesus foretells his death and resurrection -He is transfigured on the mount - He heals and teaches.

  • S05E02 The Lord's Prayer (Luke 10-11)

    Jesus calls, empowers, and instructs the seventy - They preach and heal - Those who receive his disciples receive Christ - The Father is revealed by the Son - Jesus gives the parable of the good Samaritan - Jesus sets forth the Lord's Prayer - He discourses on the casting out of devils - He reprehends the Pharisees.

  • S05E03 The Mustard Seed (Luke 12-13)

    Jesus teaches: Beware of hypocrisy; lay up treasures in heaven, rather than on earth; prepare for the coming of the Lord; where much is given, much is required; preaching the gospel causes division - Jesus teaches: Repent or perish - He gives the parable of the barren fig tree; heals a woman on the Sabbath; and likens the kingdom of God to a mustard seed - He discusses whether few or many are saved, and laments over Jerusalem.

  • S05E04 The Prodigal Son (Luke 14-15)

    Jesus heals on the Sabbath - He teaches humility, and gives the parable of the great supper - Those who follow him must forsake all else - Jesus gives the parables of the lost sheep, of the piece of silver, and of the prodigal son.

  • S05E05 Teachings (Luke 16-17)

    Jesus gives the parable of the unjust steward - He teaches of service and condemns divorce - He gives the parable of the rich man and Lazarus - Jesus speaks of offenses, forgiveness, and faith - Even the faithful are unprofitable servants - Ten lepers are healed - Jesus discourses on the Second Coming.

Season 6

  • S06E01 Entry into Jericho (Luke 18:1-19:28)

    Jesus gives the parables of the unjust judge, and of the Pharisee and publican - He invites little children to come unto him and teaches how to gain eternal life - He tells of his coming death and resurrection, and gives sight to a blind man - Jesus came to save souls - He give the parable of the pounds.

  • S06E02 Jerusalem (Luke 19:29-20:47)

    Jesus rides in triumph into Jerusalem, weeps over the city, and cleanses the temple - Chief priests oppose Jesus - He gives the parable of the wicked husbandmen - Render unto Caesar and God that which is theirs - Jesus teaches the law of marriage.

  • S06E03 The Last Supper (Luke 21-22)

    Jesus foretells the destruction of the temple and of Jerusalem - He tells of the signs to precede his Second Coming, and gives the parable of the fig tree - Christ institutes the sacrament - He suffers in Gethsemane, and is betrayed and arrested - Peter denies knowing him - Christ is smitten and mocked.

  • S06E04 The Crucifixion (Luke 23:1-49)

    Christ taken before Pilate, then to Herod, and to Pilate again - Barabbas released - Christ is crucified between two thieves.

  • S06E05 Resurrection and Ascension (Luke 23:50-24:53)

    Jesus is buried in a tomb of Joseph of Arimathaea - Angels announce resurrection of Christ - He walks on Emmaus road - He appears with a body of flesh and bones, eats food, testifies of his divinity, and promises the Holy Ghost - His ascension.
