Während alle glauben, daß Mogli von den Schüssen der Gewehre der Menschen tödlich getroffen wurde und um ihn trauern, hat Pagira den Jungen in ein Kellergewölbe geschleppt, wo er sich wieder erholt und von seinem Freund dem schwarzen Panther dessen Geschichte erzählt bekommt, wie er einst von Menschen aufgezogen wurde.
The duel between Shere Khan and Vermillion is interrupted by the arrival of three men who have come to search for buried treasure among the ruins of the cursed city. Hampered by the presence of the monkeys, the men kill several of them before Sandah comes to their rescue and is badly injured. Mowgli and Bagheera then risk their lives to save Sandah, and end up swooned, though the other animals take them for dead. Meanwhile, after finding the treasure, the three men kill each other, leaving the way clear for Mowgli and the panther to join their friends. Vermillion then sets out with Sandah’s pack to take the injured wolf to a safe place in the jungle when, finally, Bagheera tells Mowgli a secret. It is revealed to the boy that he is indeed a member of the human race.
Le duel entre Shere Khan et Vermillion est interrompu par l'arrivée de trois hommes venus chercher des trésors enfouis parmi les ruines de la ville maudite. Blessés par la présence des singes, les hommes tuent plusieurs d'entre eux avant que Sandah ne vienne à leur secours et soit gravement blessé. Mowgli et Bagheera risquent alors leur vie pour sauver Sandah, et finissent par s'évanouir, bien que les autres animaux les prennent pour morts. Pendant ce temps, après avoir trouvé le trésor, les trois hommes s'entretuent, laissant le champ libre à Mowgli et à la panthère pour rejoindre leurs amis. Vermillion part ensuite avec la meute de Sandah pour emmener le loup blessé dans un endroit sûr dans la jungle quand, finalement, Bagheera raconte un secret à Mowgli. Il est révélé au garçon qu'il est en effet un membre de la race humaine.

Infastiditi dalla presenza delle scimmie, ne uccidono alcune e Sandah interviene restando ferito. Per salvarlo, Mowgli e Bagheera rischiano di essere uccisi, ma rimangono solo tramortiti, mentre tutti gli altri animali li credevano morti. Intanto i tre uomini, trovato il tesoro, si uccidono a vicenda e così Mowgli e la pantera possono raggiungere i propri compagni, dopo di che Vermillion parte con il branco di Sandah per riportarlo al sicuro nella giungla...e Bagheera rivelerà un segreto a Mowgli...gli dirà che appartiene alla razza umana.
