Po družinskem izletu družina Križaj obtiči med srečanjem z županovo družino na ozki cesti.
Gregor, mož zdravnice Maje in Irena, žena župana Franca, ne popuščata, zato Maja zapusti vozilo. V besednem dvoboju med Ireno in Majo spoznamo razmerja moči med družinama. Po enem mesecu dela v novem okolju zdravnica Maja s svojim drugačnim pristopom k zdravljenju ni dobro sprejeta med vaščani. Medicinska sestra Cvetka pa ima težave z njenimi zahtevami po umiku vitrine s prehranskimi dopolnili iz sprejemnice. Selitev v Veliko vas težko sprejemata tudi Majina starejša otroka in zdi se, da tem težavam ne bo konca.
After a family outing, the Križaj family gets stuck on a narrow road during an encounter with the mayor’s family. Gregor, the husband of doctor Maja, and Irena, the wife of mayor Franc, both refuse to back down, prompting Maja to leave the vehicle. In the verbal showdown between Irena and Maja, the power dynamics between the two families become clear.
After a month of working in her new environment, doctor Maja’s unconventional approach to treatment is not well received by the villagers. Nurse Cvetka struggles with Maja’s demand to remove the display case of dietary supplements from the reception area.
Maja’s older children also find it hard to adjust to the move to Velika vas, and it seems the troubles are far from over.
