Arachnophobia ist es gelungen, den Aufbewahrungsort von Brew, einem magisches Werkzeug, das man auch "Kristall der Weisheit Eibons" nennt, herauszubekommen. Um diese mächtige Waffe in ihren Besitz zu bekommen, wird Arachne mit ihren Leuten alles unternehmen - ein Kampf gegen die Shibusen steht unmittelbar bevor.
Though Stein is having more flashes of madness, he tells Shinigami-sama not to worry about his health. Shinigami-sama has summoned him today to talk about how Arachnophobia has discovered the location of one of Eibon’s tools called BREW. Shinigami-sama foresees a big battle and urges Stein to get the students trained up to handle it. Stein thus takes the class out to practice, but before the lesson begins, Black*Star does some private training where he attempts to understand the other existence inside of Tsubaki. This leads him to an encounter with a giant beast who asks him about seeking power, and Black*Star answers that it’s so that he can surpass God. The beast, however, sees Black*Star more as an ogre. After waking back up from this vision, Black*Star joins Maka and Kid to practice their team soul resonance. Explaining the situation to them, a very serious Stein warns them that if they don’t pass, then they’ll be removed from his class.
Stein raduna Maka, Black Star e Death The Kid con le rispettive Armi, per farli eseguire l'esercizio della risonanza a catena. I primi due tentativi non riescono perché l'anima di Black Star è in anticipo rispetto a quelle di Maka e Kid,e questo crea un litigio tra Maka e Black Star. Solo dopo una discussione con Tsubaki, Maka capisce quello che le aveva detto Stein in precedenza, e fa pace con Black Star. Dopo un terzo tentativo l'esercizio riesce e Stein nomina Maka capo della squadra. Intanto Mosquito dichiara a tutti i sottoposti dell'Arachnophobia che è guerra con la Shibusen.
アラクノフォビアへの“対抗授業”の一環として、“チームでの魂共鳴＝共鳴連鎖”を練習するマカ組・ブラック☆スター組・キッド組。だが、彼らの魂はなかなか共鳴しない。ブラック☆スターの波長が先行し過ぎて、周りが追いつかないのだ。焦りより「みんなに合わせろ」と責めるマカに、強くなることへの苛立ちから「クソみたいな馴れ合いはゴメンだ」と返してしまうブラック☆スター。二人の間には不穏な空気が流れ、ついにマカはブラック☆スターを殴ってしまう。
