Sophie, Princess of Bavaria, is the youngest daughter of Duchess Ludovika and Duke Max of Bavaria. Her parents are looking for a good match for her and believe they have found it in the king of Portugal. But then King Ludwig II of Bavaria announced his engagement to Sophie, with whom he had a deep friendship. The historical two-part television series tells the story of Sophie's love and suffering.
