Chris hat ein Programm für die Boardscanner entwickelt, mit dem überall im All Chaos Emeralds aufgespürt werden können. Sie können einen Emerald auf dem Planeten Luftig ausmachen, dessen Oberfläche eine Eis- und Schneewüste ist. In einem Palast aus Eis finden sie den Chaos Emerald. Der Planet bekommt langsam wieder seinen alten Zustand. Doch es war eine Fälschung.
With the help of Chris' new program, the Blue Typhoon spots a Chaos Emerald on planet Freezy. Followed by Dr. Eggman's Crimson Egg, the Blue Typhoon approaches planet Freezy, but it's attacked by a Metarex and it crashes on the planet. Sonic, Chris, Knuckles and Cosmo decide to go get the Chaos Emerald with the X-Tornado. Rouge is also on her way for getting the emerald before Sonic. Everybody has to fight Metarex before reaching an ice palace, where the emerald is supposed to be located. Sonic's group find it, but it's sealed in a solid ice block. A more powerful Metarex appears and gets power from the emerald to become even stronger. A fight engages and Cosmo finds the way to defeat it with a laser beam. Knuckles finds the Chaos Emerald but before he gets it, Rouge steals it. However, Tails discovers that the emerald was a fake one.
Avec l'aide du nouveau programme de Chris, le Typhon Bleu repère une Émeraude du Chaos sur la planète Freezy. Eggman, le Typhon Bleu s'approche de la planète Freezy, mais il est attaqué par un Metarex et s'écrase sur la planète. Sonic, Chris, Knuckles et Cosmo décident d'aller chercher l'Émeraude du Chaos avec le X-Tornado. Rouge est également en route pour récupérer l'émeraude avant Sonic. Tout le monde doit combattre Metarex avant d'atteindre un palais de glace, où l'émeraude est censée se trouver. Le groupe de Sonic la trouve, mais elle est scellée dans un bloc de glace. Un Metarex plus puissant apparaît et tire son énergie de l'émeraude pour devenir encore plus fort. Un combat s'engage et Cosmo trouve le moyen de le vaincre avec un rayon laser.
