David Báthory, Dirigent eines Streichquartetts, welches in Linz für einen wichtigen Auftritt probt, wird vergiftet. In den Fokus von Joe und Ben geraten die übrigen Mitglieder des Quartetts. Báthorys Assistent, Bernardo Souza, würde am meisten vom Tod des Maestro profitieren, denn er nimmt nun dessen Platz ein. Doch auch die beiden Geigerinnen, Nancy Liu und ihre Konkurrentin Adina Morosan könnten ein Motiv haben. Zwischen den beiden tobt ein beinharter Konkurrenzkampf. Morosan und Báthory wiederum hatten persönliche Differenzen, darüber hinaus bevorzugte er Nancy. Aber diese hat ein ernstes Problem mit ihrem Handgelenk, und Joe und Ben müssen sich die Frage stellen, ob Báthory sie nicht deswegen ersetzen wollte.
David Bathory, chef d'un quatuor à cordes de grande renommée, est retrouvé mort dans sa chambre d'hôtel la veille d'un concert. Bernardo Souza, son assistant, est décidé à donner tout de même le concert en son honneur. Malheureusement, Adina, Daniel et Nancy, les autres membres du quatuor, sont interrogés par l'unité spéciale et aucune répétition ne peut se dérouler tranquillement...

Báthory's assistant, Bernardo Souza, would benefit most from the maestro's death, as he now takes his place. But the two violinists, Nancy Liu and her competitor Adina Morosan, could also have a motive. A fierce competition rages between the two. Morosan and Báthory, on the other hand, had personal differences, and he preferred Nancy. But she has a serious problem with her wrist, and Joe and Ben have to ask themselves whether Báthory didn't want to replace her because of it.
