Canada’s largest trauma centre at Toronto’s Sunnybrook hospital receives more than 1000 traumas a year. Two trauma team doctors who handle a significant number of these cases are Mark Brzozowski, a veteran emergency room doctor, and Lorraine Tremblay, a quirky and brilliant researcher and surgeon. Both work brutal shifts handling a case of man who falls from his cottage, only to lose the use of his legs; a young woman caught in a car crash roll-over; and a man is extracted from beneath a roof that collapsed.
