Mr. Hooper discovers the store has no more eggs, bread or orange juice, and the breakfast crowd will be due soon. A Honker appears to run the counter while Mr. Hooper gets some groceries. Bob enters and is able to divine from the Honker's gestures that they have no breakfast foods he wants. He's not able to understand the Honker's honking about what is in stock and asks that he write it down instead. The Honker is unable to write in English either, writing out "honk" several times. Bob is about to leave to see if he can get any breakfast at Susan's, when the Honker brings in someone else who Bob might communicate better with - a Dinger, who dings away wildly.
