Die Scandinavian Star war eine 142 Meter lange, ursprünglich M.S. Massalia genannte Fähre, die von der französischen Werft Dubegion-Normandie S.A. 1971 erbaut wurde. Am 7. April 1990 führte ein Brand auf dem Schiff zu einer Katastrophe.
On Easter 1990, a fire breaks out on the Scandinavian Star Ferry. After been towed to Sweden, the fire is eventually put out after 10 hours.
