Under the direct prodding of Hideyoshi, Nobushige takes Haru, the daughter of Otani Yoshitsugu, as his lawful wife. Nobuyuki is put in charge of constructing Hideyoshi's newly-planned Fushimi Castle, but things don't go smoothly. Meanwhile, Kiri meets Hosokawa Gracia and becomes interested in the Christian religion. Hideyoshi, at the height of his power, worries about the future of his son and heir Hideyori. However, old age begins to mercilessly eat away at Hideyoshi.
信繁(堺雅人)は、秀吉(小日向文世)じきじきの肝いりで、大谷吉継(片岡愛之助)の娘・春(松岡茉優)を正室に迎える。信幸(大泉洋)は、秀吉が新たに築城しようとする伏見城の普請を受け持つことになるが、うまくいかない。一方、きり(長澤まさみ)は細川ガラシャ(橋本マナミ)と出会いキリスト教に興味を抱くようになる。権力の絶頂にある秀吉は嫡男・秀頼の行く末を心配するが、老いが秀吉を激しくむしばみ始める。
