Eden takes Aria away, and Aquila Yuna and Pegasus Kōga resume their journey, demoralized by their failure to protect their friend. Along the way, Yuna and Kōga separate, meanwhile Eden and Aria reminisce about the happy days they shared during their childhood. Kōga later meets a young man who first mocks his weakness, luring the teen Saint into a fight. Kōga later realizes the man to be the owner of an immense Cosmo, and turns out to be Cygnus Hyōga, one of the legendary Saints who protected Earth from great menaces many years ago. Hyōga manages to teach Kōga that to reach the true potential of his Cosmo, he must first believe in himself. After learning Hyōga's lesson, Kōga rejoins Yuna and both resume their way with renewed resolve.
Luego de que Aria acepta irse con Eden, Kōga ha probado el amargo sabor de la derrota, humillado y con su armadura llena de grietas, Yuna despierta a Kōga y este se lamenta tras no haber protegido a Aria. Al ver esto, Yuna decide llevarlo al Valle de los Lamentos, lugar donde ella consiguió su armadura, en el Valle de los Lamentos, Kōga se aleja de Yuna y experimenta alucinaciones en las que cree ver a Marte, de repente Kōga pisa mal y cae al fondo del precipicio luego de despertar de su inconsciencia aparece en frente del Caballero Legendario Hyōga de Cisne, quien le hace saber a Kōga que fue un incapaz de proteger a quienes quería por sentirse débil
Koga, sconvolto per la perdita di Aria, vaga sconsolato alla ricerca di una ragione per continuare a combattere. Nella valle della memoria incontra Hyoga, che lo sfida nel tentativo di fargli recuperare la voglia di combattere.
Koga luta com um homem misterioso dentro de uma caverna. Eden tenta entender por que Aria abandonou ele e o mundo que ele quer construir para ela.
