Inšpektor Vrenko in Štefan Houra med iskanjem morilca prideta na sled tudi tihotapcem z mamili. Vse sledi vodijo k enemu izmed gostov penziona Ajdov, Jimiju Kosu, problem pa je, da Jimi Kos v uradnih evidencah ne obstaja. Vrenkovo zasledovanje morebitnih motivov storilcev ga pripelje nazaj na prizorišče umora lastnika hotela in tam naleti na sled, ki ga popelje čez celo plejado prekmurskih likov do pravega storilca.
Inspector Vrenko and Štefan Houra also track down drug smugglers while searching for the killer. All traces lead to one of the guests of the Ajdov guesthouse, Jimi Kos, but the problem is that Jimi Kos does not exist in the official records. Vrenko's pursuit of the possible motives of the perpetrators brings him back to the scene of the hotel owner's murder, where he stumbles upon a trail that leads him across a whole constellation of Prekmurje characters to the real perpetrator.
