Celebi is back. This time, it is spotted by Richie. He is able to indentify it, but he is wondering why it appeared to him. Richie is confused because Celebi guides him into the woods, where it's symbol of rememberance is located. What might be the reason, Celebi brought Richie with him?

Richie arrive dans une ville où le Centre Pokémon est sur le point d'être détruit pour la construction d'un nouvel immeuble de bureau. Il se met en travers du chemin des ouvriers et les fait fuir. L'ancienne Infirmière Joëlle apprend à Richie que, dans le passé, un Celebi habitait près d'ici. Dans la nuit, et alors qu'il discute avec Sparky, Celebi vient le visiter et le fait voyager dans le temps.
ポケモンマスターをめざすヒロシと相棒（あいぼう）のピカチュウ・レオンは、旅のとちゅうでマリオンシティという大きなまちにやってきた。ヒロシが古びたポケモンセンターにつくと、そこはちょうど、さぎょういんたちによって強引（ごういん）にとりこわされそうになっていた。ヒロシは必死（ひっし）に、とりこわしを止めようとするジョーイを助ける。 ヒロシがジョーイに聞くところによると、このポケモンセンターはとりこわす必要がないうえ、若くして命をうしなった友達“ニック”との大事な思い出がつまった場所なのだと言う。むちゃなとりこわしを何とか止められないかとなやむヒロシ。その目の前にとつぜん、緑色につつまれたポケモンがあらわれた。
