Kaiki decides to help Hitagi for a mere ¥100,000, much to her surprise. They leave Okinawa on separate flights to not arouse any suspicion. Posing as the father of one of Nadeko's classmates, Kaiki infiltrates her home to search for any clues. Kaiki discovers several suspicious details, such as the fact that Nadeko had only photos of herself without any friends and that her parents, apparently not curious as to the cause of her disappearance, never opened Nadeko's closet as she requested. Kaiki determines that she was a very spoiled child. After a brief phone conversation with Hitagi, Kaiki decides to visit the Polar Snake Shrine to learn more about Nadeko. Immediately upon Kaiki making a donation at the shrine, a mysteriously cheerful Nadeko appears. Apparently, Kaiki is her first visitor, despite Nadeko's best efforts at renovating the shrine. Kaiki asks her several questions about her relationship with Koyomi, confirming her twisted conception of unrequited love and that she still means to kill Koyomi and Hitagi. Kaiki takes his leave after giving Nadeko some yarn for cat's cradle to occupy her time, promising to return before she perfects any patterns.

카이키는 아라라기와 센죠가하라를 살리기 위해 센고쿠를 속이기로 한다. 일단 물밑조사차 센고쿠의 집을 방문하여 이런저런 대화를 하고 방까지 살펴보는데... 그 길로 대담하게 키타시라헤비 신사에 찾아가 완전히 딴 사람이 아닌 신이 된 센고쿠까지 만난다.

Kaiki decide ayudar a Hitagi por tan solo ¥100,000, para su sorpresa. Salen de Okinawa en vuelos separados para no despertar sospechas. Haciéndose pasar por el padre de una de las compañeras de clase de Nadeko, Kaiki se infiltra en su casa para buscar pistas. Kaiki descubre varios detalles sospechosos, como el hecho de que Nadeko solo tenía fotos de ella sin amigos y que sus padres, aparentemente sin curiosidad por la causa de su desaparición, nunca abrieron el armario de Nadeko como ella pidió.
À la grande surprise d'Hitagi, Kaiki décide de l'aider pour la modique somme de 100 000 yens. Ils quittent tous deux Okinawa par vols séparés afin de ne pas éveiller les soupçons. Se présentant comme le père d'une des camarades de classe de Nadeko, Kaiki s'infiltre chez cette dernière afin d'y trouver des indices.
Kaiki, che ha deciso di accettare la richiesta di Hitagi, visita la città dove vivono Koyomi e i suoi amici. Inizia a indagare sulla persona che li ha ingannati questa volta, la studentessa delle scuole medie Nadeshiko Sengoku, che ora è diventata il dio del Santuario di Kita Shirahebi.
