入院しているうい、灯花、ねむの三人のもとに、毎日のようにお見舞いやってくるいろは。
三人も、いろはのことを慕い、仲良く過ごしていた。
ある日、三人は都市伝説のようなウワサを作ってあそぶ。
自分たちが死んでも、ウワサを聞けば、いろはが自分たちの事を思い出してくれるだろうと。
そんな三人にいろはは、みんな無事に退院するという想いを込めた「万年桜のウワサ」を作って聞かせるのだった。
そんなある日――いろはの前にキュゥべえが現れる。
It happened in the past… Iroha would go to the hospital daily and play with Ui, Touka and Nemu. The girls loved Iroha and looked forward to her visits. One day, the three girls create an Uwasa similar to an urban legend while playing. That way, if they died, the Uwasa they created would live on and remind Iroha of them. Iroha also created the “Uwasa of Eternal Sakura”, with the wish that the three girls will be discharged from the hospital without illness. And one day... Kyubey appears before Iroha.

그것은 지난날의 일. 입원 생활을 하는 우이, 토우카, 네무를 매일같이 문병 왔던 이로하. 세 사람도 이로하를 좋아하며 따랐고 사이좋게 지냈다. 어느 날, 세 사람은 도시 전설 같은 소문을 만드는 놀이를 했다. 자신들이 죽은 다음에도 소문을 들으면 이로하가 자신들을 떠올려 줄 것이라고 생각하며. 그런 세 사람에게 이로하는 모두 무사히 퇴원했으면 하는 마음을 담아 '만년 벚꽃의 소문'을 만들어 들려주었다. 그러던 어느날... 이로하의 앞에 큐베가 나타나는데.
