Ein Zirkus gastiert in der Stadt. Laura ist verzweifelt, weil ihr Schwarm Almanzo die arrogante Christie zu einem Zirkusbesuch eingeladen hat. Doch der Zirkusbesitzer London gibt Laura eine Chance, es Christie einmal so richtig zu zeigen...

A circus comes to Walnut Grove. Everybody is helping set up, except Nels Oleson. His long, lost sister is in the circus. Only Mrs. Oleson believes her husband's story about his sister. Nels is nominated to be the announcer at the circus. When he announces his sister, he says, "My sister, Annabelle." These words lead to Nels and Annabella becoming very close siblings.

Un acto de circo pasa a través de Walnut Grove, y Nels Oleson se horroriza cuando ve a su hermana Annabelle distanciado como "la gorda". Avergonzado por su aspecto físico, Nels niega cualquier relación con ella. Mientras tanto, Laura se siente infeliz cuando Almanzo empieza a salir con una mujer joven llamada Christy grosero.
