Efter at Lux og Bug bliver arresteret af politiet, beslutter Lux's socialpædagog at genoverveje forældremyndigheden over Lux.
Baze nähert sich Cates Schwester Abby an, weshalb er nicht bemerkt, dass Bug bei seiner Tochter Lux übernachtet. Schon bald bekommen die Teenager Ärger - mit weitreichenden Folgen: Als Lux und Bug auf der Polizeistation landen, beschließt Lux' Sozialarbeiterin, den Termin zur Prüfung des Sorgerechts vorzuziehen. Da zwischen Lux, Cate und Baze die Wogen noch immer nicht geglättet sind, beschließen die drei, der Sozialarbeiterin bei dem Treffen eine heile Welt vorzuspielen.
After Lux and Bug are picked up by the police for a curfew violation, Lux's social worker decides it's time to meet with Cate and Baze to reevaluate their custody of Lux. During a meeting with the social worker, Cate, Baze and Lux agree to put on a happy face to ensure that Lux isn't placed back in the foster care system. Meanwhile, in an attempt to show Lux that she supports her, Cate offers to find Bug a job at her radio station, but winds up disappointing Lux once again.
Après que Lux et Bug aient été arrêtés par la police pour avoir dépassé le couvre-feu, Fern, l'assistante sociale remet en question leur capacité à garder Lux. Mientras tanto, para tratar de apoyar Lux, Cate ofrece a Bug un trabajo en la estación de radio, pero una vez más, termina decepcionando a Lux.
