灰色の村（古畑、風邪を引く）

Returning from a business trip, Furuhata catches a cold and stays overnight in a village to recuperate. While there, a woman named Kusakabe Kaoruko (Ameku Michiko) is recognized by the village as the woman who defrauded them of a large sum of money. The village chief Kaemon Araki (Tatsuo Matsumura) kills her with a katana and the rest of the villagers erase Kaoruko's existence to protect him. 出張から帰る途中、古畑は風邪をひき、療養のため立ち寄った村に一泊することになる。村には古畑達の他にも、日下部薫子（あめくみちこ）と言う女性が宿泊していたが、彼女はデパートの営業責任者と偽り、村から多額の金を騙し取っていた。それに気付き、憤慨した村長の荒木嘉右衛門（松村達雄）は薫子を日本刀で斬殺する。嘉右衛門を「お館様」と呼んで敬愛する村人達は、彼を守るため薫子が存在した痕跡を全て消そうとするが、前の晩に薫子に一目惚れした今泉が必死で彼女を探していた。
