Inogashira Goro (Matsushige Yutake) is in Shimonita, Gunma for business. He arrived too early so he strolled around a neighborhood that seems preserved in the Showa era. He decides to eat at a Chinese diner called "Ichiban" that boasts of its delicious tanmen and handmade gyoza, served by an elderly couple and their young apprentice Numata (Tozuka Junki). Next, at the request of city hall, Goro inspects an old brick warehouse that is being planned to be refurbished and reused. After business was done, he tries to head back to Tokyo but falls asleep at the station while waiting for the train. He blames station conductor (Masana Bokuzo) for not waking him up. Instead of staying at the station, he decides to eat for the meantime, and heads for a restaurant he saw earlier in the day. It was a sukiyaki shop known as "Columbia". The proprietress (Yamamoto Yoshie) tells Goro that pork is commonly used in sukiyaki in Shimonita, so Goro orders it. It is Goro's first time to have pork sukiyaki...
仕事で群馬県の下仁田駅に降り立った井之頭五郎(松重豊)。早く着いてしまったため、昭和レトロな街並みを歩くことに。しばらく歩くと渋い面構えの中華料理店(一番)を発見する!
仕事前なのに思わず雰囲気と空腹で店内へ…。
五郎は ひと目で“うまい”とわかるタンメンと餃子を注文し 店員の沼田(戸塚純貴)が運んできた。
空腹を満たした五郎が向かったのは、インテリアを任されたカフェの下見。大正時代のレンガ倉庫を改装して店舗にするのだという話を聞きながら、五郎はその雰囲気を確かめる。
ひと通り確認を終えた五郎は一路東京へ戻るため下仁田駅に向かうが次の電車は30分後だと車掌(正名僕造)に聞き、ベンチで寝入ってしまいさらに電車を乗り過ごすことに。
トラブルに負けじと、晩飯を食べて帰ることにした五郎。頭に浮かんだのは、タンメンと餃子を食べた中華料理屋【一番】の隣にあったすき焼き店「コロムビア」だ。早速向かうが、店内は不思議な内装でスナックの様なカウンターに旅館のような大広間…。そんな空間で、五郎は下仁田では一般的だという豚のすき焼きを注文し旨甘の焼ネギと豚肉のすき焼きを堪能する。
締めは鉄鍋に残った割り下と玉子をご飯に絡め一気にかっこみ至福の時を過ごす。
일로 시모니타 역에 내려선 고로. 너무 일찍 도착한 터라 마을의 예스러운 정취를 느끼며 거리를 걷던 고로의 눈에 한 중화 요리가게가 눈에 들어왔다. 순간 배가 고파진 고로는 그곳에서 배를 채운 뒤 자신이 인테리어를 맡은 카페에 견학을 가고, 일을 마치고 돌아가려던 고로는 갑작스러운 트러블에 휘말리게 되는데...
