有名ノンフィクション作家の橘(勝矢)のパーティーで、隠してある新作原稿のありかを導く暗号問題が出された。 原稿には、とある出席者の犯罪が実名で暴かれているといい、手に入れられれば大ヒット間違いないと、パーティの参加者達（渡辺大・戸塚祥太・山西惇・宮澤エマ・今井隆文・ゆきぽよ）は必死になる。 そんな中、一はゲストのグラビアアイドル、桂木湯里奈(ゆきぽよ)が、酒に酔った橘に絡まれているのを助けるが橘ははじめに激怒、謝罪に向かった一の帰りが遅いのを心配して、後を追った佐木達が目にしたのは、なんと橘の死体の横で、血の付いた凶器を手に佇む一の姿だった…！ 無罪を主張する一だったが、参加者に追い詰められ警察が駆け付けた時、一はすでに姿を消していて…。 「容疑者の少年は金田一一17歳！」 追い詰める警察の包囲網が固まり、一の逃走劇が始まった。 暗号の答えを探るべく参加者の元を訪れる一。しかしその先々で彼らは殺されて…。 被せられた罪がどんどん重くなる一は、姿の見えない敵と戦っていくが…。

The party guests all compete to find the draft, as it is said to contain the name of a criminal who is attending the party. Meanwhile, Kindaichi helps Yurina Katsuragi when he sees the drunk Tachibana harassing her. This makes Tachibana furious. Later, Kindaichi goes to make amends with the author. Saki begins to worry that Kindaichi is taking too long and goes to look for him, but what he finds is Kindaichi standing over Tachibana's body, holding a bloodied murder weapon. Kindaichi pleads his innocence, but the party guests corner Kindaichi and call the police. However, Kindaichi goes missing by the time they arrive and the prime suspect for the murder is none other than Kindaichi himself. As the police surround the area, Kindaichi embarks on his escape.
