Cisneros a fui et Diego est atteint du choléra. Julio et Alicia ont alors une marge de manœuvre pour quitter l’hôtel une fois pour toutes et commencer à vivre une vie ensemble. Mais le mourant Diego, fait une proposition à Alicia qui pourrait tout changer… Pendant ce temps, Belén retrouve Bazan pour l’empêcher de dire la vérité à Andrés. La rencontre entre les deux aura des conséquences inattendues. Par ailleurs, la maladie prend de l’ampleur au Grand Hôtel… L’hôtel va devoir fermer ses portes, mais Dona Teresa n’est pas de cet avis. Enfin, Javier réalise qu’il est malheureux sans Laura et met tout en œuvre pour empêcher la dissolution de son mariage.
Con Cisneros huido y Diego enfermo de cólera, Julio y Alicia tienen vía libre para abandonar el hotel de una vez por todas y comenzar a vivir una vida juntos que hasta ahora se les ha negado. Pero el moribundo Diego le hace a Alicia una propuesta que puede provocar que todo cambie... Y lo haga para siempre.
La enfermedad no es el único problema de Diego. Cisneros está fugado y acorralado por la policía, pero no dudará en intentar cobrarse su venganza contra su enemigo de la forma que sea, y pasando por encima de quien tenga que hacerlo.
Mientras tanto, Belén vuelve a reunirse con Bazán para evitar que éste descubra su intento de matar a Andrés. El reencuentro entre ambos tendrá consecuencias inesperadas y definitivas.
Por otro lado, la enfermedad de Diego ha contagiado a más trabajadores del hotel. Ángela teme una epidemia y utiliza su nueva posición para intentar convencer a Doña Teresa y Alfredo de que lo mejor es cerrar el hotel. Las negativas a escuchar los consejos de la gobernanta pondrán en peligro no sólo a los enfermos, sino a todo el Gran Hotel.
Por último, Javier se ha dado cuenta de que es infeliz desde que apartó a Laura de su vida y, cuando ella vuelve al hotel para conseguir la nulidad de su matrimonio, el joven Alarcón intentará recuperarla por todos los medios posibles.
