Die für die Verwirklichung des Aegis-Projekts so wichtige Operation Meteorit beginnt: Mittels Lockvorrichtungen sollen große Massen von Aragami angezogen und erlegt werden. Auf Empfehlung von Lindow wird Lenka, dessen God Arc noch nicht fertiggestellt ist, zum Kommandanten der Frontbasis ernannt. Auch Alisa kehrt wieder in die Einheit zurück, doch wirkt sie auf ihre Kameraden seltsam unnatürlich... Anfangs scheint die Operation Meteorit planmäßig zu verlaufen, doch obwohl die Lockvorrichtungen reibungslos arbeiten, schlagen die Aragami plötzlich eine andere Richtung ein - nach Nordwesten. Lindow bittet von sich aus um Erlaubnis, die Ursache für diese Richtungsänderung zu erkunden. In nordwestlicher Richtung befindet sich nämlich auch das Lager von Flüchtlingen, das Lindow unterstützt.
Operation Meteorite, a plan to lure Aragami with a newly developed guiding device, is critical to the completion of the Aegis Plan. Lenka is unable to join the unit due to adjustments that must be made on his God Arc, but Lindow recommends him to command the advance base camp. Alisa rejoins the unit, but the others seem to feel uncomfortable around her. Operation Meteorite starts successfully, but suddenly the Aragami turn away from the guiding devices and head northwest. Lindow is sent to do reconnaissance and realizes that the Aragami are converging on Asyl, the settlement that Lindow has been helping.
L'opération Météorite est lancée. Cette mission essentielle à l'achèvement du projet Aegis consiste à utiliser des dispositifs mis au point récemment afin de guider les Aragamis et de les éliminer. Le God Arc de Lenka n'est pas prêt à temps, mais sur recommandation de Lindow, il participe quand même à l'opération en qualité de commandant. Alisa désormais remise participe elle aussi à l'opération, mais Lenka et ses camarades ne peuvent s'empêcher de ressentir un malaise en voyant son état.
Au départ, l'opération Météorite se déroule bien, mais tout à coup, les Aragamis qui réagissaient jusqu'ici aux dispositifs de guidage partent tous en direction du nord-ouest. Sentant que les choses tournent mal, Lindow se porte volontaire pour partir en éclaireur. Les Aragamis semblent vouloir se rassembler à Asyl, le campement auquel Lindow apporte son soutien
Lindow e Tsubaki esaminano uno dei punti in cui è stato posto un sistema di guida Aragami, a questo punto Lindow afferma che si dovrebbero accelerare le operazioni. Mentre Tsubaki lo invita ad andare con lei nella casa dove hanno passato la loro infanzia.
「エイジス計画」完遂のための重要な作戦、新開発の装置を用いてアラガミを誘導し殲滅させる“メテオライト作戦”が始動。レンカは、神機の調整が間に合わないものの、リンドウの推挙で指揮官として作戦への参加が決定する。回復したアリサの参戦も決まるが、レンカ達第一部隊は復帰したアリサの様子に違和感を覚えるのだった。当初は順調に見えたメテオライト作戦だったが、突如、誘導装置の機能に反してアラガミが一斉に北西へ移動を始める。異変を察知し、偵察を志願するリンドウ。アラガミが集まってゆく先は、リンドウが支援するアジールであった。
