The rebels' journey to Reflex Point is blocked by a large Inbit hive in the desert. Things get worse when Stick and Rey are captured by a local police force and their Ride Armors are stolen. The thieves are revealed to be disillusioned ex-soldiers from Mars Base who quit the service after seeing too much war. Yellow hears their story and sympathizes, but Stick condemns them as cowards. The ex-soldiers only earn Stick's respect when they join the fight against the local Inbit. In a final act of redemption, they sacrifice their lives to destroy the hive, clearing the path for the group to continue their mission.
